well yesterday when i opened up halo custm edition to go play and test a map i made with a friend i couldent get into internet servers, it just goes to the updating part then says stuff like: you must have adminstrator privlages to download the required patch.
BUT I AM THE ADMINISTRATOR!!
anyone know what i can do, when i click "ok" it just closes and thats that, cant get passed
its really annoying me now because i want to play and test my map with other people :(

Right click the shortcut then click run in administrator. You'll have to do this every time you load up halo ce btw. You can also turn it off, but it opens up to virus's on the internet.

You mean Vista? or the computer? and Vista isn't bad, if you complain its slow, then its actually the computer that is slow.

lol i dont think my computer is slow, with 7700 ghz of physical memory and 4 gigabytes of DDR2 ram, its like the speed of lightning+++++

anyway thanks again for the help, i'v see so many things that you have to run as adminastrator but i never do, and it works, but this time it dident come across my mind, anyway i did it 1s, it worked fine, now i dont have to run as admin anymoire, but il know what to do when i ever get something like this again

100% WRONG

You open your Halo Custom Edition Folder and right click update.exe and run as administrator. You only do this once to update to 1.08. You do NOT need to Halo CE as administrator, it works perfectly as a normal user. To make adding maps to your maps folder easier, you can go to the security tab on it, and set users to full control.
