why cant spheres compile into my collision models? is it something i might be doing wrong or is it just the halo engine not liking it or something?

Spheres cannot be Collision Models. It is because your perfect sphere is, perfect. And a perfect sphere simply CANNOT be made out of triangles. Therefore, Tool will reject it. A modern computer could probobly handle it, but Tool rejected it because when Halo came out, putting a Perfect Sphere in the middle of a warzone would give most PCs trouble.

Even if your Sphere isn't exactly perfect, it likely has many triangles, and therefore becomes somewhat stressful. While spheres look good for the Visual model, try using a watered down version for the collision models.

try messing up the verts of the sphere with a noise modifier. 3x3x3 usually does it for me

I believe modifiers of that type are from Blender.

Actually, in blender, you can turn a cube into a perfect sphere, with modifiers. Or you can just curve it into a curved box all the way to a chunky ball... And blender is free.
