I want to learn how to only animate not map or model things, just animate.

Would that be a bad thing?

what i mean is would i need to learn how to model before i learn how to animate?
or can i just animate without any expierence on modeling?

A rare sight, indeed.

Normally, in a team, there's a modeler, and an animator who animates that model. Unless you want to be both, you shouldn't have to have any knowledge of modeling. Well, maybe making a sphere and rigging the magazine and such to move when you move that sphere, but nothing major about modeling.

obviously its not a huge help at all, but when animating, it is important to have knowledge of pivots and basic modeling functions so you can constrain the movement of an object to a spline's path or something like that.
