I alone, have been working on a paper mario style map. When the flashlight has been activated, it will change from a 3P Side Map Camera, to an FP camera. For about 15-30 seconds, which allows you to get past obstacles you could not see in the 3P Camera. WIP Pictures: Still work to be done on the BSP model, and I need texturers to make mario style cliffs, ground, and the 2d background.

cant say its not a big improvement for you advance. how do you plan on scripting the camera to move and keeping the camera constantly in 2d?

It could work when you press q, you enter a vehicle (yourself, via the biped tag) with the camera being far away and not in FP, and when the timer runs out you get out of the vehicle. maybe something like this: Quote: (script continous 2dto3d (sleep_until (= (unit_get_current_flashlight_state (unit (list_get (players) 0))) 1)) (unit (list_get (players) 0)) (unit_enter_vehicle (list_get (players) 0) fpbiped "hurr") (sleep 450) (unit_exit_vehicle (list_get (players) 0) fpbiped)) I dont know if itll work, but I just put into script form what I said.

Renders with ripped Textures I edited the BSP a little, I am still deciding whether or not to have Pipe Teleporters, as they cause Degens in the BSP and I cannot seem to fix it. And the map is pretty small, so I am thinking of making it larger in scale, though I might add more zones.

I never played paper mario but this project looks neat. You shoud get or make some sort of mario biped.
the textures look alot better then other maps who have ripped textures.

Advance , Kirby was gonna throw together a test map for it because we are in the beta stage of that camera testing , if you want , or rather with your permission instead of throwing together a quick map , your map can be the test if you want? , i dont use xfire or aim , only msn so make sure you have that and hit me up via it so we can talk about it , that way we all benefit from this.
I`ll PM you now with my msn details , as its also easier for us to group chat with Kirby that way when he gets on.

I can vouch for this level , i can see the potential it has (Advance that was the word i was looking for last night! XD)
I have used the bloom mod on it , and it looks even nicer with that , trust me , hell its gonna be nice , it would be nice even if it did not have the camera gimic in it , aslong as all the other stuff works fine :)
Anyways , Kirby has been working hard on the camera and he tells me that it follows fine now after tweeking , but there are still some minor bugs , so hopefully those will be worked out :)

So there's going to be two versions then? One with FP camera, and one with the 3rd person camera Kirby is working on? If so, i'd just do the 3rd person, to me it'll fit this map better. Also, try to get a mario biped, that'll make this complete and awesome.

Anyways, its best to do it just FP, or 3rd person. not a mix. (unless you just have certain cross road areas.. but its still not gonna be the best) Get on MSN or something, ill try and explain how the cam works on there.
