Your firewall or Internet security program is blocking the server ports that Halo runs on.

Are you on a router? If so, those ports are probably behind a DMZ on the router and will need to be forwarded. Search google for port forwarding, seeing as I have no idea how to do it.

I portforwarded Halo on both my router and my firewall, and still no effect! I even activated the DMZplus mode (allows all apps and ports, etc) and disabled my firewall, but I still can't get in the motherfudging games...WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG HERE?!

This is something that is weird, yet works, change your network settings:
switch the last number of each port to 2 or 3. (yours should be something like 2302, if so, change it to 2303, or vice versa.)
Do it to both.
--------------
I have tested this in the past, and it works, dunno why, but it does. (If it doesn't, than change it back.)

it doesnt see Halo Combat Evolved on your PC, so it wont install.
Edit: Xfire me, I am "KillerKip1"
I have a special "stand alone" version of CE that is hard to find, it doesn't need Halo Combat Evolved. (Dunno who made it, but it has newer servers, and less lag, plus, over 200+ servers are active every day, lol, a lot of players.) Edited by KillerKip1 on Dec 7, 2008 at 01:57 PM

In order to run the regular Halo CE, you need the Halo Combat Evolved disc, and the key (serial) for it. (From my knowledge.)
But my version was a suggestion, that's all. Edit: (My version doesn't even need a key, you just install.) Edited by KillerKip1 on Dec 7, 2008 at 03:05 PM

Halo CE is free, mine just runs without a disc.
Illegally made? yes Illegal to use? no
What confuses me is the servers, my version has different servers. Why?

1.08, when its downloaded, it even has different servers for the 1.00
Its very wierd.
(Why is v1.8, and not v2.00?)
Lets drop this, we are not supposed to be talking about illegally made software. Edited by KillerKip1 on Dec 7, 2008 at 06:50 PM

Lets drop this, we are not supposed to be talking about illegally made software. Edited by KillerKip1 on Dec 7, 2008 at 06:50 PM None of the Official Halo CE files are "illegal" ALL of them are official releases by the company either Gearbox or Microsoft/Bungie. Including the V1.08 patch. Halo CE is perfectly legal as long as you own a copy of Halo PC and have the product code it is just nor supported by the companies.

I was talking about Halo Custom Edition, my version is a stand alone. That I "thought" was illegally made, because every time I used to install custom edition (the unmodified CE), it said there needed to be a Halo Combat Evolved Disc in the drive. The V1.08 update issued by MS/Bungie removed the need to have the CD in the drive. It still requires that you own a copy of Halo PC and have the product key.

(retorical question) You can use the CD Key Finder here on halomaps, it searches for the register key in which your installation info is stored. It finds the cd key if you have once installed Halo PC or Halo CE on your computer. And yes, its legal

I installed mine without Halo Combat Evolved or a serial code/number. It never asked for them, and my computer has never had Halo Combat Evolved on it.
I can send it, if you want to take a look. Edited by KillerKip1 on Dec 11, 2008 at 06:00 PM
