That wont do much considering that all but about 5 people who play halo ce have the tags and the map.

Since when were we fighting? This is a legitimate debate. Do you see insults in either of our posts?

I know it seems like I'm wasting a lot of effort, but I never give up. I stick to my guns until I see very good proof against my argument.

I think a certain mapping team has just been served.

Since all maps except coldsnap, snow grove, and extinction end up collecting dust on a back shelf, who would ever see those coveted tags anyway, locked up in a map?

Same thing. Its still ours, we made it, and we put our effort into it. Yes, someone owns the name but that someone doesn't care. So your being an idiot and saying its not ours. Although they can claim it, its still ours. Just like we say SPV2 is made and belongs to CMT, same thing here. IT can be claimed by the company that provides the software, but IN OUR COMMUNITY its ours. Stop trying to be the smart one in everything. There are 2 different sides that are both right. Just live with it. Plus, he asked if he has permission to use it, we said no. So discussion over. This isn't about who owns what. it was a QUESTION if we want to let him, we say we dont. Even though he has the right because we cant stop him, we would not like him to use it. Discussion over. Question answered. The rest is clearly not relating to the topic because he did not ask if it is against the law of the game or if he is allowed to use it. He simply wanted to know if we would mind or not. If you dont like what I said, I dont really care, because i'm not much of an arguer like you. But just remember, sometimes people get in bad places if they think they have to win everything they fight against.

Bobby, as you can clearly see, we're not selling anything, and the people who use our tags without permission are obviously NOT friends OR family.

If it were up to me, H3MT would completely quit and just leave you all with the crappy tags + map. Yeah, that's right. NO FINISHED MAPS WHATSOEVER, but since that isn't my choice... blah blah blah

^ If it wasn't for me enjoying the halo series, I would leave this communities sorry winy babies behind to move onto better things. Such as Ut3, Source, etc. I already map for ut3 and when H3MT finishes this mod, I'm leaving.

I completely understand that you do not want him to use it for the sake of respect, and if I were him, I wouldn't use it for respect to you and your team. Don't misunderstand me and think that I'm justifying him just ignoring your request because of legal issues. I'm only defending the facts, not whether Egg should use your tags or not.

However, Dee is trying to justify his right to say "no" as if it was legally supported, as if Halo CE content was owned by its creator, which you and I both know is wrong. He doesn't seem to get that, and that is the only thing I'm fighting for, which is the facts.

I'm not trying to sound smart, I never cared about sounding smart, in fact I mostly give out a lot of help to new members here and contribute positively to the community. I argue when I know that what someone is saying is wrong, because anything that is not true being preached as true is corruption.

And above all, I always try to be right, yes it's true, yet I am very willing to accept I'm wrong at any time, as long as there's very good reason for it. It's not that I'm narrow-minded. I'm only stubborn if I'm sure of what I'm saying.

Copyright laws are complex. Most of these posts show you don't understand them. I will not reiterate or try to explain what my lawyers have taught me. There are college courses on the subject and they cant agree.

Suffice it to say that if you download it from this website you can do whatever you want with it as long as you do not try to sell it or what you made from it or try to make Microsoft/Gearbox/Bungie lose money from it.

It is polite to ask the creator, it is expected that proper credit will be given but in reality you can do whatever you want with it.

If someone tried to use your content without permission isnt there a law about that? I take caution when I use my ripped content expecting there to be a law out there about it.

If your talking about copyright, or plagiarism, those laws don't apply to this situation.

Plagiarism did when someone attempted to take credit for the bubble shield we made.

Do you read things? He said he would give all credit to H3MT if he was allowed to use them. Either way it doesn't matter its not like you can sue someone for using your tags Halo CE without taking credit. Morally wrong, mean, and not very nice? yes. Illegal? Not at all.

do i need to go find all of the maps with tags ripped from m6deep's lobby, burial mounds, and asgard? all stuff from those leaked sigma maps. its a pain in the ass, but in the end, there is nothing you can do to stop people from using h3mt's leaked tags. i might just go and box out a map with nice gameplay then release it with h3mt's tags to prove a point. there is nothing you guys can do to stop me short of hacking my computer

Nothing you make or create for any Game that retains the intellectual property rights, like Halo, can be copyrighted by anyone else but the owner of the IP. What that means is you have no legal defendable right to anything you make for or from the Halo games. All things made for the Halo game by people other than MS/Bungie are considered fan creations and no one, not even the creator, has a legal right to them because MS/Bungie owns the IP.
