Since me last TWO Topic died... let's try it YET again, heres my problem:
Me and a friend of mine are trying to play a one on one Online multiplayer Halo CE game. but the issue is that i can't the his server and he can't see mine, but i can see all the other servers not just offical but User started ones. by the way the map is called "Zanzibar INTENCE" and we both have it. i also have the "Show all user created maps" ckecked. I have tryed opening the ports on my computer (not the Wireless router). they inclued: Port 80, Port 2302 and Port 2303. and Yes, we both Have the 1.08 Patch.
why are we not able to see each others servers?? and how do i fix this problem?? please resawned ASAP.

Hey there i am back!! i just tested a theory with me and my friend... For some strange reason we are not on the same Halo CE/Gamespy server. can you believe that?! for example: i see a Server named "Xfire\Best Slayers" (the map"Extinction") but he does not. he also does not see a Server called "fun, no password, no lag... but i do. How weird is that?! How do we fix this prob?

...Whell there are a couple of reasons for that to happen.

1.He maybe doesnt have those maps.
2.Maybe he put something on the filters thats making the servers to not show up for him.
3.For some reason ever since i got a router to get my internet connection people cant see my servers on the server list.Maybe the creator of your server has the same problem.

i just read your post and i forgot to add something... we have different ISP's (Internet Service Provider). I have Qwest and he has US cable. Not sure if it matters but.

Hey Eleven yes we have both updated to 1.08. We just found something out recently... my friend can see my server/game but can not join it. But i cant see his (and of course cant play on his server/game). hope thing helps

Some people cant host, and if thats not the problem here, i have another idea what happened to me what i cant discuss here.

You need to open your firewall and port forward your router to allow people access to your PC from the internet.

Btw isnt letting other people access your PC trough firewall kinda bad?I mean they can do a lot of stuff to your PC with just a little access.

You probably have but didn't know it.

Your freind may be running off the alternative servers, they were built but never used, (kinda like backups), thats what I found out my Halo Custom Edition runs on. (long story short, if he has my version, he wont be able to run on 1.08 or 1.0 servers, you also cannot update my version.)

I am working on mine to get it back on regular servers, not sure how though. (this is it for my posts in this thread, and since this was just "ONE" of the many options that may have led to you not being able to play with him, I thought I would say this.)

And also, you might have your firewall setup to stop servers made by you from being joined. (Not allowing a server to be made, so it is made on the backup servers, or just off your own PC.)

If I am just babbling nonsense here, just ignore it, but the first part I am sure of. Its an odd story. (not going to get into to it now, I am going to hit the sack.)

Sorry i have not said much i have been kinda busy (with school and all). And i just wanted to say that.... i can join a dedicated server he made but nothing else and i can't make a dedicated server because i don't have two PC's. By the way we kinda fixed the issue. He noticed that his Wireless Router Firewall was all messed up and so that kinda fixed it but not all the way. He and i can see each others man made servers (not dedicated) but can't seem to join them. for some odd reason it says"Unable to join game server". Even though we both have the same Maps and the same Network Settings. I could just be me, But my ISP (Internet Service Provider) is "Quest" and his is "US Cable". not sure if it really matters though. one last thing before i go... Who here hates or thinks Quest is really annoying? Because i really HATE QUEST! There stupid Firewall Built into the Modem could be the issue here.

LOL! I used to have Quest.

You just need to port foward.

It takes 5 seconds to configure the Quest firewall. Can't remember much of it, but go into the firewall tab on your routers IP page, and configure it to unblock it. When I had Quest it worked fine.

Yo dude... i have already looked at "portforward.com" and i have found nothing at all that has helped me in this kind of issue. Not one single thing! But i thank you for trying at least. Sorry to bother you all with this continuous issue.

I am going to hit the Sack here soon so i may not get back here as soon as i wish i could....
