hey guys my friend just got banned all of a sudden in my server and i didnt do anything, idk why, but then i want to know hwo to unban him? ive typed in
sv_unban $e@th
but it didnt work
so how do i unban ppl
i think it should work since i accidently banned some1 else then i unbanned him and he joined my server.

alright so i have to go for numbers? but how come i unbanned my other friend with his name?
so will both of em work? cause i tried to unban my friend when i was not in a server but it didnt work, and the other friend ago, i unbanned him from a server. So do i have to be in a server or not to unban, and do i have to use the numbers or can i also use the name.
but i'll try to use the number method first.



and will destroying the banned list work or not work? cause i dont think it works, ive tried it before.

oh so thats why, cause my friend i unbanned didnt have any modified letters in his IGN, so i could unban him, so to unban $e@th, i have to use the numbers for it to work. heres my ban list,

# Name, CD key hash, ban count, ban end date

GAMIN,*,1,--

so $e@th is the seventh am i right? so i just type in sv_unban 7 right? then he can join my server again right?

but theres a ban end date so shouldnt he be already unbanned?

What I do is delete the entry with his name in it.

will that work? cause wont that mean liek just deleting the banned list? its like the same thing as deleting the banned list, but u just deleted 1 person, but will it even unban and will it work?

Stan, no. You just take the number the "sv_banlist" gives you. You've probably been unbanning the wrong people. As in:

sv_banlist list:

1 Hi
2 Bye
3 Fish
4 Shark

To unban Shark:

sv_unban 4

To unban Hi:

sv_unban 1

Simple enough.

oh ok so to unban seath hes number 8 right? so i just type in sv_unban 8 to unban him rigth?

its easier to just go to the banned names file

if your banlist says:

1 Man

2 Guy

3 Person

4 Dude

then to unban person, change it to:

1 Man

2 Guy

3 Dude

Person isn't on the list, so he isn't banned any longer.

thanks for trying to help me on this, but ive already followed the instructions from Stan and ME KS so i unbanned my friend already, and what youre doing will not work i think because thats just deleting the person off the banned list, ive tried that before and it didnt work for the people i banned, adn thats the saem thing as destroying the list liek ive siad earlyer in this topic, it wont work
