In the level c10, as well in almost all other levels, the designers tricked radiosity and got a desired effect by putting in fake lights; lights that are invisible or wouldn't natrally occur.
The use of these invisible lights is essential to lighting the c10 swamp. I am trying to light a similar environment, using shaders like "c10light inv5bluish!", but they just don't seem to be working as well as those used in the level. Does anyone have any experiance with invisible lights or lights in general.
Also, I'm looking for some type of energy beam that emmits a warm orange glow. (or an accompanying invisible light). Does anyone have a red/ orange version of the energy rope or something similar? So far, the best I can think of is some mri lightning scenery.

Or maybe they put in brighter textures, ran radiosity, then put in the darker textures.

The shaders are light shaders. Just like any other light. The only difference is that the bitmap they use is just black, and is not visible in game. Yet they still don't seem to have any effect on my map.
I did have the thought that Bungie might have put in lots of lights, ran radiosity, then removed the lights and left their effects, but the invisible lights in their levels are still there in the bsp. They might have originally had extra scenery lights though. It's hard to tell. But I want to use invisible light shaders because I can alter and place them easily.
