Could someone tell me what i need to do to fix this tool++ error?

### door.JMA
WARNING: LARGE TRANSLATION NOT IN JMW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

model animation compression saved 0 bytes
Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

It's a simple animation of a door opening and closing (swing as opposed to slide)

thx

I have no idea, but I'll take a random guess that jmw is another animation format. You have to export the animation as door.jmw

Just a guess.

Yes, i know how to animate, the animation looks fine in 3dsmax7.

I exported via the blitzkrieg exporter as a jma.

Does anyone have a link to a list of tool error descriptions?

There are some, but I've never seen that one.

I just had a look around and I get the impression that devices won't work in multiplayer maps because of sync issues. Can anyone confirm or otherwise?

As for the door animation, I got it thus far...

. ### door.JMA

. model animation compression saved 0 bytes
. Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

I set up a new scenery tag and specifed the gbxmodel, collision model and animation graph.

I can place my new scenery object in the map with sapien, but I can't see it and it doesn't appear in game. I've played around with the bounding radius and render bounding radius setings and still nothing appears in either sapien or in game.

Scratching head .. again!

well the animation is fine. its probaly the bounding/rendering part. make them both 10 to see if that works

Solution:

Somehow I managed to shift the frame object way off in the z axis by a few thousand units - the object was appearing in sapien and in game, but was below the map so far that I couldn't see it!

Doh!

Anyway, I unlinked all the parts from the frame, repositioned the frame at 0,0,-1000 and repositioned everything else where it should be and hey presto! it works!
