I don't remember where |I heard this, but I was told that you get models with 3sided polygons into halo. Is this true?

If you were working in Polys on your model the entire time and want Triangles, Convert it to editable patch then convert back to ediable mesh.

Only bsps and collision models need to be modeled in triangles only because that is the only way to guarantee your model will be completely sealed. Otherwise, weapons, vehicles, etc can be modeled with just normal polygons. Once everything is put into halo it is then converted to triangles by the games engine. And this doesn't apply to just halo. Every game is rendered in triangles

Well, the triangulation is always there. In editable poly it just doesn't show the triangles for easier editing, yet there is an option in Polygon mode in editable poly that is "Edit Triangulation". This shows the triangulation that is hidden. Halo doesn't convert the model into triangles. The triangles are already exported into the JMS whether they are visible or not.
