when i do a sv_say with correct rcon password like i can only type things that are like three letters long any help

sv_say doesn't like spaces. You have to use _ or . or - etc. You can't type rcon [rcon] sv_say hello there, because it will only show up the first word. You have to do rcon [rcon] sv_say hello_there, or use anything that isn't a space. That's how the console works. Notice if you just type in 'sv something', it will say "Function 'sv' can not be executed right now" or something. Edited by ODX on Aug 17, 2008 at 11:02 PM

You can use spaces, as long as you put what you want to say in quotation marks, i.e.:
rcon <password> sv_say "I'm banning you all."
