well i tried the commands for lighting in my map, but when i open it its all really light blue, can anyone help me fix this?

did you type a command similar to this:
tool lightmaps levels\halo halo halo 0 0.9
or
tool lightmaps levels\test\halo halo halo 0 0.9

Does tool do radiosity faster? Or can it keep going while you do other things (unlike sapien, which only counts down when it is selected and not any other program or window)?
And how what does the "0.9" mean. I know it's the extent to which it computes, but what are the limits of that. I forget. Something like from .9 to .0000009 or something?

Hey guys, just a hint: If his problem is that the lighting is BLUE, I would venture to guess it has something to do with his light shaders and NOT compiling lightmaps in the first place. >_>

i mean the entire ground is blue and theres no sky(even though i set one) and i can barely see the cliffs in my map

There's no sky? Are you sure you set it correctly in the scenario file? If so, then are you sure you have the "+sky" material set correctly in 3ds Max?

i had it set to +sky in gmax, what do i do to fix my map so it shows the sky and ground bitmap?
