Would it be possible to have different 'models' for different teams? What if you used the same model but for whatever part is supposed to be missing you take the visible texture away and add in a texture like on a fence so the part that is missing is invisible but is really there.

How about PMing someone instead of making a whole new topic...

Also if I'm not mistaken isn't H3MT doing that with their Halo 3 perms.

Why couldn't I just make a thread and get a bigger response? I also know nothing of H3MT.

Well, supersniper, the point of these forums are to ask/answer questions and state other things about HCE, what's wrong with asking a question in a new topic? The only thing bad about it is that possibly Dennis has to pay more for storage, but I think these forums are the least of his problems, look at how many terrabytes of files are hosted here for download.

Would it be possible to have different 'models' for different teams? .
NO. As others have said:" The game engine will not support it."

What I meant was could you make it look liek they were different models by makeing a texture that is like the ones on a fence.

Ok, I'll try to explain it better.
In a normal game, the whole model is visible and textured. You can also skin teams different (Look at SWMT).
What if you created a model that is a box, and another one a circle, and put the circle inside the box, (they would be the players for example) and skinned one team as a box and the other box would be skinned like the parts of a fence between poles (like the ones in Chronopolis) to be invisible, that way you can see the circle for one team, and the box as another, and they would obth be the same model.

He means make the colors of the teams different textures of Armor Perms. Bump maps, correct?

He means different textures for different teams.

Saying that for one there should be an alpha for one set of parts, the other, alpha on another set of parts, each one that has the alpha on it, however, is invisible, making it appear as if though different teams have different models.

However, since teams change only the color of the player via shaders, and models are only random, No, this would not be possible either.

And the answer is the same. No. "the game engine does not support it."

The servers never sleep and DB updates need to be performed in off-peak hours. I have a few minutes while they get loaded and backed up so....
