When I fire my new weapon, it inflicts damage on me. However, it also shoots in front of me like normally too. What is deal? How do I fix this?

Point the gun away from your face.

Say something actually useful for once chains. Seriously, could it be problems with the association between the frame gun and the the end of the gun?

firing damage in the weapon tag. do NOT set that to the bullets damage. firing damage is really just for things like the screen shaking and whatnot, and the smg recoil. mb a harmless damage effect to make u unzoom when u fire a shot.

Frame gun is just the node for rigging and registering it in game. *strike one*

I know that. I may have found the reason, just waiting on Sapien to load, so I can rebuild the map with the changed tag, and then see what happens.

What do you mean by do not set it to the bullets damage?

the .projectile has a damage effect attached to it, does it not?
the .weapon also has a SEPARATE .damage effect attached to it
the weapon's damage effect is what happens to the play who is firing it, such as screen shaking, or even causing damage to the player, becuase damage effects have a variety of things they can do
the projectile's damage effect is what happens to a player when they get hit by the projectile.
basically, you set the firing damage in the weapon tag to your bullet's damage effect. simple mistake, i did it before too

i believe in the !jpt section (damage) theres the bullet damage effect, weapon trigger effect (the 1 uve most likely edited) the bullet impact and im not sure what else; the weapon trigger MUST NOT do damage; or if anything toggle damage off, or make it 1 damage and in the material damage section, assign it 0
