I go to a higher level school, so we often use laptops. Recently people have been bringing flash drives into school and installing Halo CE. I don't know how they do this without a CD key but they somehow do. Whenever we have downtime we play CE on LAN. I'm just curious as to what all of your views on Halo in school is.

you can install halo on multiple computers with the same cd key and you can start halo with the cd, but then you dont need it. you cant play with any other computer that uses the cd key though... so they are installing with their cd keys and playing with them on the other computers

On some computers Halo Trial is on. The Computer Apps kids install it.

We only use Halo Trial at our school. Also some people have made portable versions of their halo CE games by putting all the files in an installer and just clicking on the .exe to extract it. So in reality Halo Trial is the best one to do at school.

I would but I don't... instead, I prefer to play old dos games via programs with revamped source code or dosbox... and yes, I play them on LAN too. This is in programming class. HOWEVER, every now and then we have a User Interface day... We can bring any game system we want, play any game, w/e, so long as when a school admin comes in we act like we are in the process of taking a game's user interface and dissecting what is good/bad about it, and how it affects the PROGRAM... they let it slide every time... Next user interface day will be in 1 or 2 weeks, and the teacher just asked one of her friends to bring two Xbox 360s and hook them up to Xbox LIVE.And I also play this game at school: http://www.omf.com

Well all students at my school (unless they hacked or got in trouble or something lol) have a personal storage in the server... accessible through "My Documents"... I have quite a few games on there, ranging from Flash games to retail 3D games...
In my documents, I have:
Nanaca Crash Raiden X Descent 1 Descent 2 Descent 3 One Must Fall 2097 (90 ft. tall robots beating the scrap outta each other with all the gracefullness of their human counterparts that they are neurally connected to) One Must Fall: Battlegrounds (must be installed ev-er-y single time I want to play it!) Mechwarrior 4 Demo (which I have now decided is lame as hell and will ditch for a cpu grabber and mechwarrior 2 3dfx and a voodoo card emulator) Tyrian 2000 (Most awesome DOS top-down shoot-em-up. Ever. Period.) Gmax (okay, not a game... but still...) Mah Muzix (still not a game, but...)
And last, but not least,
Gravitar and Asteroids... and Asteroids Deluxe... I own at asteroids... I suck at gravitar.

Last year, some friends and I used to play (Over the)CounterStrike. We had an installer hidden somewhere on the school network's hard drive.

My sisters middle school is trying to loop the teachers for 7th into 8th grade. So you'd be stuck with the same teachers for 2 years. Hows that? Not to mention keeping you with the same class for the year. Same people, different teachers. Stuck in a group unlike you? Too bad. Not to mention the ninth graders were segregated in my high school. All of these things are meant to improve grades. All it does is screw the 10th, 11th, and 12th graders schedules up. Because of that, I got stuck in an advanced math class, and I feel my teacher isn't fit to teach 5th grade math.
Rofl, my friend sat on the second story window in his global class last year. Teacher had no idea what to do. (This is the same kid who climbed the concession stand(broke his ankle too) and the side of the school....)
Back to topic of the halo in school. No flash drives, not even CD's usually. We have to email stuff to ourselves most of the time. Youtube is blocked!

Kinda sucks... Rofl a teacher got fired for look at porn XD My school has only had 1 fieldtrip for my set of teachers, being planned out now, and they don't have enough people! It's $50 each and so far there is not enough money for the fieldtrip. And did I mention... NO REFUNDS! So if we don't get to go the school keeps it. There were 3 schools, 2 in nice areas near where I live. Everyone I know went to those ones. One has no IB-Program, and the other one has too, but it's science isn't as advanced as the other school's one. Now, this school is 1/2 an hour to 45 min away, and is in the ghetto. It had advanced science, but not too advanced, actually, the school used this years student to test out the new physical-science/ earth-science change, and found out it was too hard for the younger students, so we use notes on all our tests and learn nothing, because we were "the test classes". And one of our teachers was caught looking at pron by a group of students, but the students were suspended and quited. And my school has PCs with integrated intels from 1999-2000, 256mb RAM, and 32GB hardrives.. BAD PCs. I was forced to go for crappy advanced science, and our science teacher should be teaching kindergarten! Edited by madkiller92 on Apr 30, 2008 at 08:56 PM

We're not allowed to play video games at my school :(. Even when it is sneaked by the very few people with laptops, the internet/lan for the school is pass-protected, so no multiplayer halo ce here :(.
