I recently tested command lists in Sapien, so I made a video of a small thing I called the Banshee Run. However, I mis-underestimated the fact that the defenders (Spec ops Grunts will Fuel Rod Guns) would not hit the targets.

If you want to watch the video, it's here.

Next I'm going to try Pelicans and Covenant Dropships.

The main question is, why can the Grunts hit me in SP with I'M in the Banshee, but they can't hit a straight moving Banshee? =/

i think this is basically ai dumbassedness against even more ai dumbassedness. they respect each others ai retardation. when they see a life form that moves with purpose (aka someone who isnt severely mentally damaged) they get angry and stress thier little deformed brains to attack you for your superiority... kind of like a peasant uprising...

you could try going into the actor tag and messing with some values, but i think this is just artificial stupidity in action

It's like Halo 2 AI, which are interestingly smart. For example, fire a rocket at an Elite and he'll dodge it. I wonder if I could somehow make it so when they see a rocket they try and dodge it....

Specops grunts with fuel rods have a weird gun-holding animation that makes it nearly impossible for them to truly aim perfectly. But, for future reference: if you want perfect aim for any AI, go into the actor_variant tag and change these values:

Ranged Combat:

Projectile error = 0 degrees (This is just a random error for whenever a projectile is shot)
Target tracking = 1 (anything lower than that means they don't even track the enemy all the time)
Target leading = 1 (important: this is how well the AI aims ahead for slower projectiles, like fuel rod)

Burst Geometry: (if you want to know what these do, read the text for this section in Guerilla)

Burst origin angle: 0
Burst origin radius: 0
Burst return length: 0
Burst return angle: 0

Either way, what else would you expect from grunts?

Good question. Good news! The Chief can drive a NPelican using command lists. I'm testing the Covenant Dropship and Longsword now.
