amber clad has nothing 2 do with me, opsy is using the amber clad model for his CoQ ship. but thats not what this thread is about; we were just comparing the BFS PE and SE with several other halo ships

Right now were just doing the BFS, and the amberclad is a halo 2 ship, play the game lol.
Maybe dhark will create it, but he smore an original guy than just making a copy of a halo 2 ship. And if your still wandering, the amberclad is a halo 2 capital ship, basically a POA of halo 2.

The In Amber Clad is a frigate, not a Haylcon, or a Capital ship.

Right. It seemed that the BFS was less 'Heighty'' and less Large but anyway. There's no way I can fill the CoQ totally without becoming pointless:P

Anyway, my ship is rather basic taking all in comparison, while yours in completly made from scratch so Hats off!

Why rush everything through just to get it into a map contest? Why not just take your time and make everything with you best effort and not rushed? People, in my opinion, would love the map a lot more if it wasn't rushed and released just for a map contest. There is an equation that I have seen on several maps that have been released. The equation is: "When things are rushed it looks like crap, and when things take their time everyone is happy in the end." I mean, sure people will be happy it is released but maybe everything won't be the best that it could be. Then some people might get all mad that you released a map that has crappy parts in it. That equation is not always true though, but it is true like 99.9% of the time.

I would just like to say, "Don't rush it for the contest. Take your time on it and make everything the best it possibly can. People will enjoy it more that way."

Thanks for reading through this rant.

if we were to enter it into a competition, and if we won the competition; what would we get? I'm imagining its not something spectacular or anything like that, am i right?

I would prefer a "Training Room" That simulates terrain.

Either that, or be like Chiron or be like Counter-Strike's Training mission thing.

'your room bores me' lol thats funny and retarded, but watevr

What is on the floor is basically what constructs a virtual scene. its the stuff that can be changed to form whatever terrain specified (supposedly). if we wanted to, we could make a switch to be animated scenery and changed between 3 or 4 different landscapes. But seeing that noone really likes it. Maybe i just wont bother to put that in...

And the room is 'boring' because it doesnt need to be pretty, for example: would the military pay x amount of money in a submarine just to make it look rly rly pretty? i dont think so. The room also doesnt need to be pretty (storyline wise) because the morphing material requires SPACE.

Also this is just the alpha; its not the finished deal...

well unfortunately it is quite a slow process, its difficult to get multiple people working on this thing. we could split the bfs and id share server's workload. but then the issue would be of syncing the stuff. It sounds simple but its....not really. and then 3ds max is being gay with me so that makes life even MORE difficult =/ for now im just using the trial of 3ds max, but thats a bad solution

the animated scenery would be nice... as long as it doesn'T make us feel like it's just like hm... a Map of some space:p but the way it looks right now is nice. sorta reminds me of PDZ

My Xfire is lettera.

Oh, and Chains, that concept is looking good, but I'm rather worried it will not fit into the space alloted unless we make some REALLY drastic changes.
Edited by IGM_theServer on Mar 9, 2008 at 01:13 AM

That's why pencil drawn concept is better:)

i know. Still tho, Drawn concepts are better because they give some modelling freedom while 3 d concept are more restrictive.
