I've been looking for tutorials that would help me understand how to model a map I want to do, but all the tutorials I can find are for making 'Box Interiors' or 'Box Canyons'. The map I'm working on is on a beach and I was wondering if someone could give me a hand on to actually go about modeling.
I started out with a plane and have continued to model the ground and brought all the edges up of three sides (which are the cliff walls [map boundaries]). The fourth side I've extended down to be in the ocean (like Relic). From my understanding the maps must be inside a Sky Box, is there anyway I can do this without having to create it inside a literal box?
If anyone knows of a good site with multiple tutorials please point me in the direction. Thanx

I understand that it doesn't have to be an "actual box", what I'm saying is could I build my entire map and then create a geosphere around it? Also what is an average count on Polys/Tris for a Halo 2 Vista map? If you guys could post average/max for small mid & large maps that'd be great. Edited by YakZSmelk on Feb 18, 2008 at 08:13 PM
