I'm wondering if there is a way to create a slipspace device machine, like the 'teleportation' one used by 343 Guilty Spark. I would use it for my machinima, but I don't know how to create it. I want the one like in Halo 3 too. I tried experimenting with .effect files but...

(If you have played Halo 3) You know when the Seperatist carriers come out of a wierd wormhole like object? That's 'slipspace'.

Or if you haven't played H3: Basically I'm trying to create a wormhole in the sky that my ships can 'enter' and disappear and then is deleted using devmode.

This is a video of what it looks like (in the first 10 seconds or so)

I have no access to that link, 403 error. Also, why not make a giant...scenery(?)...object that has a teleporter in it and the object has no collision model so the ship can go into it, and teleport the vehicle and you like the portals in Coldsnap?

Well, I don't know much about mapping either....Or effects, or animating, or skinning, or UVW wrapping/unwrapping, or texture making, or modeling, or scripting. Wait for someone else I guess, or look into 343 guilty spark files or something. How do you plan to do this if your 3DS Max is 'broken' and you don't know about anything that I just said that I learned from listening to other people?

Well, I know Coldsnap that's for sure, but are there vehicle teleporters in there? Wow, I must've missed them big time...

Well, in both bases, there's big boxes that can warthogs can perfectly fit into, and it has the green effect on it. It takes about 2 seconds to teleport.

he means su mthing liek this

I know what he means. Slipspace translates to subspace to me. Basically a wormhole.

I am not going into details on the false science of subspace though ;-)
