Dano, are you going to get into a career making textures or something?

Just wait until I get a tablet. I'll be painting about 6 times better than that, and about 3 - 4 times faster. Dam mouse and it's limits.

do you use the pen tool at all when making textures? i took a tutorial on it the other day.... I just realised it could be really useful...

Yes, but even that is slower than just making large selections and simply cutting out the selections with the circular marquee tool or something.

but..... isn't the pen tool more precise, I only use the selection tools for adding a glassy 3d effect to my stuff....

No amount of bandaids could fix that POS.

Also, I finished the CMT brutes textures, totally and finally just a couple hours ago :D

Expect to see some sexy renders soon.

Hey not bad for eight minutes, if you really took time on some I'm sure they'd be great.

This is reminding of when I made my first texture...it sucked. Eventually I kept getting better and eventually came to my first good texture:

That cliff texture was the best texture I have ever made. I'm still using it also.

Check that out, it might help.

DISCLAIMER: No, Sim is not a texture maker. He just makes stone textures like the one in that tutorial, and messes with filters and gradients in Photoshop for desktops, or even the occasional Halo CE sky.
