With halo CE's amount of players averaged around 180-300, THAT could be much higher. I know your saying Of course, but this is very sad news.

With my new labtop, I installed HCE and not the hotfix (yet) I was looking arround at teh servers, and there was a good ammount, and about 350 players. I didn't recognize any of these servers. I saw no CMT maps. No yoyorast, or ZTeam maps.

As I double clicked to "Join server" the truth spoke out. These 300 some players were all playing unpatched, or hacked, Halo CE. Now, my download speed averages out arround 300 KBs/sec (usually that fast for a download). but in game, ping was usually arround 800. Not only for me, but also for every other living biped arround me. Tears rolled out of my eyes. This was a fairly young community, who didnt know what CMT was, or where halomaps was. I spammed (as well as i could) to tell them to patch or buy a legal version. Stupid firewalls. The lag came arround every 14 seconds, and everyone starts running in place, then it repeats...

The community had servers named "OMG 3rd person view mod" and theyre still probably using Hex editors to mod.

Then I discovered the Inconvenient truth. NO, not the kind that Al-Gore Discovered when he examined the layers of a core of ice. It was horrid! Heck yhea, this was like a different planet, but these are 300 players at a given time. What do we have? 150? 200? MABEY 250? Do you realize hor many more people of the forums that would be? 2000-3000 mabey? Or even 500+! The main section of halomaps forums is HCE!! all the other sections usually dont get posts sinc the last day. LOOK IN THE PORTAL MAO SECTION! SGT STACKER, HAZARD, BOBBYSOON, CHEATSMAN? SO
UN FAR-MIILIAR? HECK NO, they all heard of it from the halomaps section.

This is like 3rd world halo ce. Did you know people that youd never knew had illigal halo ce? Its sad. these people all lost there CDs, or cant get the game, or are too lazy...

Well, It would also be awesome if halo PC and CE were interteined into one, like in COD2Pc. crap, 5000 players! Thats fantisizing though. If you dont have a patched CE, or illigal CE, get the hotfix.

Next time yoy play PC, spam telling about hce. trust me, people will listen. And BTW, every one of those 500 people have a chance just as good as anyone else has to make a famous map.

Happy New Year, and did you know when you look at the topic, the guide on the top that tells what sub-forum you're at, it looks like >:-(? And it would be so nice if they all got the patch, next morning " Players : 564 " would be awesome. All we need to do is spam, if there was a Halo CE commercial, it would have CoD4 players right now, and CoD4 had 5000+ servers in the first couple weeks...

Id pay anything to have a larger HCE community

Why not just play on your unpatched version and join servers just to tell people about the hot fix. That way we can get more players. Basically copy the .exe before you patch it. Then rename it to Halo CE unpatched.exe. Put it on your desktop. Then patch iup the original haloce.exe. After that place the copy in your Halo CE folder along with the haloce.exe. That way you will have both. Then you can make shortcuts on your desktop. That way whenever you want to advertise the hotfix you can. :D

Lol not true. Those people want the game so bad that they resort to those illegal copies. They just don't want to pay. Many people still play on Halo v1.04 with that crack. Also as stated earlier on the unpatched Halo CE. Personally I would like to see them all combine too.

So, the ping averages out at 800.
