sorry guys i totally lied to you coluseum 3 was in development 2 weeks before 2s final release
i cant show any screenshots because my bsp isnt good enough to show anything, but its the best one ive made so far.
the story is set in a jungle, on a small island far away from the coluseum. the MC crashes his escaped banshee and learns of a nearby UNSC encampment. he sets out to find it. it turns into a disaster story after that, and like 2 i will keep most of it a secret ;p
i will be using a few new and custom weapons, such as a sentinel beam, (in beta currently) the g36c from 2, a few more.
in terms of vehicles i have a new jet and tank, so ill be breaking those otu as well. ill post more updates as the project moves along. if this project goes as good as 2 did, then expect Coluseum III to be released within the next 6 months.
so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to post them here. id be cool to have a new story line, similar to 2s i guess but more original. and i got a good vibe from the horror sequences in 2 so if anyone wants to see something im all ears. Edited by AHS_SONIC on Nov 15, 2007 at 11:11 PM

I advise to start a whole new series. Maybe instead of the Master Chief, its a different spartan. I like the jungle idea but I wouldnt have jets in it. Unless you were traveling LARGE distances.

i was thinking i could use it as an escape method, not actually using it ingame (the tank maybe) but more as a final cutscene device.

I loved coluseum 2 for its story, battles and cutscenes (those cutscenes...they ROCKED) anyways, here are some things i think you should work on for III:
1. Weapon HUD's and fp. The lack of crosshairs was kinda annoying, and some of the anims were a tad strange, fix these up, and it would make SUCH a difference.
2. BSP. I know you had some issues with the BSP from II which is why it turned out like it did, but i want to see something a LOT better for III. PLEASE!
Anyways, it sounds like its gonna ROCK, dont skimp out on story or cutscenes either, these were GREAT in II. I loved the horror vibe and the music!

yea thx i was watching tears of the sun, and i really liked the jungle environemnt and i thought it would make a great halo map. so if you have ever seen that movie, im going to try to take that approach to it. some weapons just cant have a reticle, because if they did the balacne would be thrown off and you would be able to hit enemies easier than ever, espicailly with the shotgun. but ill figure something out for III.
also, i know lots of scenery makes lots of lag. so im going to try to merge the tree models into the 3ds model, to prevent such lag. lots of water will also be used.

if you made it where you could see the old coluseum from number 2 in the distance *im talking about making it a cool looking texture that goes on the sky and when you crash you could see it through the trees....also if your gonna use that custom gun in 2 might i suggest that you fix the hand placement on the weapons in the 3d model?

boss battles can work you just have to make it work you cant just use an original halo model and turn its sheilds up....a custom biped that is scaled up like that slug being the size of an ls and scripting what it does will work fine...besides thats basically the same way other boss battles are made a awesome entrance and an awesome death cinematic if sonic put that in for that boss battle on number 2 it would have been a lot better

yea im looking for rigged, custom bipeds now. that slug one is pretty cool, i might use it. but if anyone has any ideas, bipeds, (NO BSPS LEAVE THAT TO ME), or weapons id be happy to throw them into the next level. i hated putting in covenant and flood, because its the same old thing: walk around and kill the covenant/flood. (BORING) so if anyone has bipeds they want to see in a map ill be glad to throw them in.

the slug one would be awesome if you scaled the size of it bigger lol and *just a suggestion to make it cooler* put some rusty huge romor pieces on it lol and i think maybe a few of the robots that i saw on turbosquid would be cool and there was a awesome alien on it somewhere i cant remeber exactly where it was but i used it for a lil 3d animation once

im workin on rigging that slug, i have a zombie now as a scenery model:  Rigged to master chief animations: he wont be rigged to mcs anims in the end, ill give him my own animations.

lol you should put in what i sayd earlier on xfire you you sonic an big trex XD so you'll have to run from it you know XD and by making him chase you with a lot of noise and stuff and giving you the feeling that you need to run for your live.
