iv been trying to make a dedicated server i have the correct script thanks to a script maker i found on halomaps for dedicated. but anyway, i want to know to system reqierments for halo dedicated server i have a high speed internet soooo i wav wondering the rest of them.
As was already said the dedicated server requirements are pretty much that same as the game requires to run except for the video card. As for High speed internet you will need to know what your UP-stream speed is Not your download speed. ISP's advertise the download speed but throttle the upload speeds. Once you know the Kbit/sec rate of your upload speed you can figure the maximum number of players by dividing it by 40 and rounding down. So if the upload speed it 384Kbits/sec then the number of max players equals 384 / 40= 9. Each player uses just over 38Kbit/sec of bandwidth in UPLOAD speed from your server.
As for using the same machine to run a dedicated server and a client it should be obvious that dedicated means it is the only thing running. Do not try unless you have a 3Ghz machine with 2GB ram and a fast hard drive. Running both programs actually requires 3 to 4 times the resources since the client also starts a server as well and the video requirements eat up CPU cycles. If you only have one machine then run a hosted game.
