Well, I thought it would be neat to make a topic to post what youre first map you downloaded was.

When I first came to hce.halomaps.org, I downloaded waterloo waterpark. I dont know why, I think I just wanted to see a NEW map in halo. I'm sure most of you downloaded more popular maps (Hugeass, Coldsnap, Snowgroove) sp post youre first map here!

Actually, I downloaded CMT_Tensity, and then Dissolution, being a CMT fan ever since.
I was excited because it had an SMG, and other custom weapons I thought couldn't exist 2 games back.

I think it was either coldsnap, this one http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=438, or one of those halo 2 maps... I don't remember, it was too long ago...

It was hugeass if Kiwi remembers correctly, sadly Kiwi can't look on it fondly.

i downloaded ndugu snowbarding all tha way lol good times wish they had an old maps only dedicated server i remember when i was here and there were only 2 pages of maps....good times....good times.

The first map I downloaded was Blood Islands, it took me several hours to locate the map becasue all the websites that had hosted it had closed down, so I decided to create Halo Maps.

hmm let me think, i think my first was yoyomod. which is sad because i didnt even know what yoyorast island was. i downloaded a lot of crap maps before i realized that they were crap.

edit: i also download it a lot of maps with custom vehicles in them because i was fascinated by them. maps like prime C3, etc.

but i dont get this ok most of yall have been members here a long time right? yoyorast and yoyomod in my opinion arent that old i remember when yoyorast came out. does that mean that i am like a halomaps old coot that smells like prunes?

ive been here since April of this year. i never played halo PC or CE until like a week before i joined here. my frined gave me the game and thats how it started. im just a quick learner i guess.

ODX, read what you quoted... He made the site because he had such difficulty finding the map, so its natural for it to be one the first ones....

Mine first download, Coldsnap FTW. I still play it, and idc what you guys say about its noobyness... Its relaxing to drive a vehicle around for a while and not get killed... And its so huge theres plenty to explore and find places to hide... I didnt know that there were tunnels inside one of the cliff walls until I looked at one of the pics on the download page a couple months ago...

Kiwi does sometimes enjoy randomly driving a warthog around but coldsnap still has too many ways for people to easily kill you while you relaxing.

Thats true... I never go into the heavily populated servers though, so I rarely get killed... Unless some noob betrays me...

I'm asking was it THE first one. And what were the 'other' first ones?

Which ever maps were uploaded on the same day... Duh....

1st time when installed CE:Coldsnap


2nd time when reinstalled CE: CMT Snowgrove

Unfortunately i don't remember the first map i downloaded, but I DO remember the frustration i got every time i tried and got a "Cannot connect to ftp://files2.halomaps.org/files/<file name>" error.
Took me a long time to fix that problem.

my first map was A10 (yes... PoA.... then the rest of the campaign maps) next was POA Space, then idk but a whold load of space maps.

till one day i meet coldsnap. at first i was like pfft... another small map.. i thought wrong.. i play it every day now.

all you ppl are stupid..... as if you didn't get yoyorast first? (dw to the ppl who got Halo CE b4 yoyorast existed), GREATEST MAP EVER!

also... i never got coldsnap for about 6 months... go me.... I still never play it

lol if you have to go around in vehicles in coldsnap i dont see why youd try and relax you would be better off in a lan server with no one in it i have many many many secret places i go to if ya see a emo933,fun,or trinitywolf its me so be prepared to get mad playing me lol

Why did you download Coldsnap if you ain't gonna play it? It's just a huge waste of computer space.

mine was zanzibar (downloaded it wayyyyyy back when H:CE was new)
