is it possible to place cameras in Sapien and make it so they appear in realtime as security monitors?
Ex: you place a camera in Sapien facing a door. on the other side of the map there is a screen model and it is, in realtime, displaying what the camera sees. is that possible?

It may be possible to rig something like where you hit flashlight your camera will switch to that one and back but you would only want those in generic places in the middle because you can't detect teams without special setups which aren't fool proof.

have a huge pipe of dynamic mirrors to reflect themselfs all the way to the cam room. so, unless you wana spend like 20 hours of calculation (angles for reflecting to keep image going right) just to see the power of the reflections to see how far they can pass a image.. have fun :P

So it is possible... But only for someone who has too much time on their hands, or a genius... Or both.
Yeah, let's not bother trying that really, let's just do what CE lets us do without a struggle. xD;

I just thought about something when talking to MechWarrior here on XFire.
You have the ability to sightjack people, and it detects the other players and goes onto their view, right?
There's also the debug_camera which has a preset camera which you can control, and save to specific positions.
Surely you could set a screen with scripting to detect the same thing that the debug_camera uses, in a preplaced position, and shows the view that you'd get using said debug_camera, except you'd be in MC's body, looking at a screen.
Or even set a AI such as the Monitor in front of the base, and have it sightjack that AI's view, to show the base.
Is this possible, or would it be too complex to actually get to work? It sounded logical, slightly, but it could be just a far-off theory.

Thats a shame. About the only cool thing I can think of to do with something that limited would be to have a cinematic cutscene triggered by the spawning of a secret vehicle or something.
A little bit more far fetched would be triggering a very short cinematic showing where the king zone is each time it moved. Useful for the bigger more complicated maps but there isn't much purpose to having it. Edited by SGWraith on Oct 18, 2007 at 12:26 PM

Only security camera thing i can think of is a vehicle with a really tight camera track, and a camera marker further away on a camera, and te player enters a seat in a control room somewhere. It would have to be custom tailored for the map and each specific point though.
