Ok. Heres the deal. I haven't seen a good map contest here in a while. So, due to someone asking about em, I decided, ah why not, can't hurt to try and have one...

So heres the basis for it. Halloween is coming up, and why not have a Halloweenish map contest. Deadline will most likely be Halloween. I haven't thought of prizes, other than bragging rights (which everyone loves....), so I'll need ideas on that as it goes on.... But here's what maps will be judged on...

• Halloween related content.


• How scary it is lol


• How dark and gloomy it is


• How much custom content


• How good the gameplay is. Whats the point of making the map if nobody is gonna play it?


• Originality. Duh.

Ohh yea, no taking others work and claiming it as your own.... I know there are some halloweenish tags/models on this site, don't think about claiming em as you're own.

Before I actually fully go through with this, I really want to know... How many people will actually go through with this?

Ahh yes, I seem to have forgotten the contact info... Basically, send me the map by email to killerelf12007@aim.com, or through xfire.... Your choice...

I'll upload the maps to Halomaps probably, so that means when you send me em, send me em ready to upload... IDC if its archived or not, though, preferably .zip if you do...

A month is some time.... Although I do see conflicts with school and stuff, which is why I said probably Halloween. Maybe a week or 2 more...

Well I'm already judging lol. So, I guess I would.... I may make a map... Or probably just some prizes... Mb a giant killer pumpkin...

if i was a good map maker, i would/good modeler. You should have the deadline at about November 10th or somtin like dat. This will be really cool. i gots ideas.

-Dark fog
-Thunder
-Cloudy night skies
-Rain heavy
-Zombies (or flood)
-Pumkins with shotguns (oh yeah)
-Lots of mud
-Awsome skins
-A caridge for a vehcile
-Candy (wooo)
-And finally Halloween costums for MC!!!

Deadline is Halloween as of now. I'll ask about progress in about 2 weeks to see if more time is needed. If it is, I'll add a week or 2. Judging is the week or 2 after all submissions are recieved. 2 weeks is only if theres that many maps to be judged lol.

Ok cool, Selentic, you can be a judge. Only 5 max.... And Napalm, this is also Roosters idea... Well, he kinda reminded me that there haven't been any competitions in a while, and Echo also came up with the idea... A few minutes after me XD.

alright arbiter, squeaky, napalm, talk to me or echo whenever you can. we can get the whole team on this. me and echo have some good ideas and have already begun working on models. we can find something for all of you to do, so give me a shout ASAP.

No, there will be consolation prizes just for submitting a map that passes one of those topics mentioned before. If its a completely random submission of like a christmas map, no consolation prize lol. Then there will be more prizes for 1st and honorable mentions...

ya, if you click his user for the 30 recentest posts of his, they are mostly calling random people newbs when he himself cant understand modeling tuts and requires a tutor.. yesh, quite ironic.. wonder what he considers himself if all those people are "newbs"?
