I remember a thread about linking obect in maps which ive been working on and ive found if u link the main level(usually a box) to frame and link all other boxes tubes whatever to the main level box then u can jamb boxes through each other with 0 errors in tool. OMG xfire maniac1000 this map compiled fine for me and works well.

Quote: --- Original message by: kenney001 its all wrong. You CANT HAVE pieces of BSP sticking through other parts of the BSP. Every time two faces collide, those two are not made collidable, although tool will accept them. It will cause falling through the level, and many other weird collision errors. YOu need to connect the pieces to the ground, and fix all of your UVW's. kenny i know u r very experienced and i am not but if u r using these (boxes) for only asthetics they will work well wont they? and the level is just a testing box i have for stuff it will never get uvw properly.( the jumps r just for fun while testing stuff)

Hes not wrong, Your wrong, As long as everything is sealed, and everything is linked to the frame it will export and work correctly, i do it and have never fallen through my maps, Everything has to be sealed Edited by H Guru on Aug 9, 2007 at 10:04 PM

yea its not as good, cause if some pieces are too thin for the engine to realise its solid you basically will go straight through it

if u line things up well it works but i know there is nothing better than making a great detailed map bsp all sealed in 1 object in 3ds, butim not that good and i dont have the time to spend to become a very good mapper, but i do enjoy playing in 3ds and messing on things i make and this seems a really good and easy way to add detail to maps, thanks for the info
xfire maniac1000 for help on this
