this really feels odd to ask cause i think it's something i should know by now but it isn't. So i am going to ask this community for help.
I know all about AI and how they don't sync (don't debate this, that is not what i am wanting to talk about)
however what about bipeds placed in game, the kind you can add in sapien that just stand around that can be used for movies or whatever. Do .bipeds placed in maps sync. i would assume so based on the halo moves i see filmed in halo ce but i need to know for sure.
also second question is about dev bump where you bump into a biped and take over it's body. I know you have to use your player biped to bump into the other to take it over. But could you take the biped over, and then jump out of it into your original biped without actually physically bumping into it?
any help is great. thanks

Rideable bipeds are like vehicles, idk how well they work, and biped damage doesnt sync... (But if player is riding it, and dies, then they both do i believe......)

i would just have to test it i guess.
but what about the bump thing? do you have to physically bump again to get back to the original biped?
EDIT: also if anyone knows of a vehicle skinning tutorial can you give me a link. i searched on halomaps but did not find anything at all. i tried several different searches. Edited by Rm860 on Jul 14, 2007 at 11:52 PM

Its not a bump, you'll actually still be the original biped, riding inside of the new biped. Might need to make the original one go below ground, to account for height differences, but its entirely possible to make the bipeds rideable as if they were vehicles. Without making a vehicle tag. Open the biped tag and go to seats....

i am going to just use normal vehicles and skin then to be different colors. i need red and black ghosts. i think i found a tut by h-guru but it's not letting me download it. http://files.filefront.com/Editing_skinsrar/;6625989;;/fileinfo.html that one, it won't let me download, something about a download key. I am going to PM guru about it on his site but if that link works for anyone let me know.

i restarted my computer and it worked fine, must have been a wierd error. But i uploaded it to my filefront so i have it for safe keeping and to avoid the problems.
now i got to view the tut a few times to get the hang of it and then try it. I have to make 4 skins for the ghost, just simple editing but still. I got to figure out how to make 4 different skined ghosts while still keeping the original skined ghost. i think for that i just got to copy the ghost.vehicle and then paste and rename 4 times so i will have a total of 5 different kinds of ghosts which will work out perfect with the globals..woot. however i don't know how that will effect the tool command i have to do.
maybe i just replace the "ghost" with something like "ghost1" which is the copy just renamed to be a different .vehicle
