How does Undertale have bad game design?
It weaves narrative and mechanics unlike most games.
Its core loop of combat mechanics that vary based on enemies that range from fast paced platformer to shmup, and even sudo-rythem game is well executed.
It has an okay story but impeccable characterization.

What is your criticism of Undertale from a gameplay perspective, that leads you to think there is some consensus on Undertale having bad game design?

Also how hard is it for you to understand that videogames are interactive mediums that require good game design?
You can say:
"But it has good music"
Then its better served as a sound piece, an album, a soundtrack and not a game.
"But its a visually really beautiful game!"
Then its better served as a piece of art to be hung at a museum not a game.
"But it has a good story!"
Then its better served as a book, movie, or comic (any non-interactive medium) and not a game.

I love undertale, don't get me wrong there, but as long as I look at the gameplay Undertale isn't very special

Undertale is special because you feel connected with it, because it can make you love the characters and because your choice really is a choice, but that isn't really the game design what makes it good

P.S. I'm currently doing a legendary playthrough with all the halo games I own, I started with Halo 2 but didn't finish it (Accidently switched the xbox off during the longest Halo 2 mission of all, nothing was saved and I had to do it all over again, of course I didn't want to anymore), I'm now playing Halo CE legendary, and I must say, playing legendary is more fun on CE then in 2, but I still think that Halo 2 is more charming then CE

P.P.S Masters, don't come with that old "if his arguments are dumb, that guy must be an ignorant kiddo", I appreciate Halo CE more then any other halo game EXCEPT 2, it isn't that I don't like old games, I just prefer Halo 2, and if my argument is something you don't doesn't mean I'm a kiddo -.-

Oh and apparently Halo 2 is Halo's equivalent of the Kardashians.

Oh and because some developers mentioned that Halo was designed to be played on legendary, even though the ingame description mentions Heroic, this means that the ingame description was wrote up by another developer who clearly made a huge typo. Clearly it isn't possible that inside one company, developers shared different opinions on which difficulty was the real way it was meant to be played.

No but really, it's hard to discuss with somebody as irrational as me (I agree that I look irrational to you looking back on my arguments), but it's even harder to discuss with somebody who is completely butthurt

You know, it's something called, charm, immersion, atmosphere, and such things, but no, of course there isn't anything else but game design in games

Halo 2 is fun in Normal difficulty, I used to play in normal but recently because I needed to do some testing for SPv3 I've started to play in Heroic and Legendary, I've been through H5/H4/H3 and H1 but really H2 feels like crap in Legendary, you'll die for stupid reasons and the experience isn't enjoyable at all, Halo 2 must have been designed to be played in normal despite what Bungie says about it, if you play in normal you'll have some fun but in higher difficulties it's just plain boring, even Halo 5 was funnier in Legendary...

But bungie said legendary is the only way to play the game, or else you're a worthless human being!

True, the sniper jackals are annoying as hell with the one shot kills, it's about you shoot first, or you die

And don't even try to-op together, when one dies you have to go to the last checkpoint, no matter if the other survives -.-

But it's awesome on normal

Me and my bro actually co-op'd the hell out of all three original Halo games.
For H2, the Old Mombasa level was a case of memorizing the jackal sniper locations, and swiftly taking them out.

Obviously insta-kill snipers aren't a very "fun" design, but I could make my peace with it as real wars aren't exactly forgiving either. Still, it was great fun to be able to blast through those sections like a well-trained task force, simultaneously emerging from behind cover in co-op and each taking out a different jackal sniper before they got you!

Sounds fun, but me and my bro aren't that tactical to be honest :P, we just love to rush the hell outta the covenant xD

If every mission is posted online for people to see, it leaves less surprises for people who actually play.

When you guys post videos of your mods that get on average 10,000 views per vid, then you can decide how much you want available for people to see. I for one, rather not have 10,000 people see everything we have done before the mod is out.

I found that ghost inside the temple and it was there before i enter to the structure.

And the worst halo game is Halo 5g with the cheap encounters, inmersion, story, reach firefight style encounters, repetive gameplay, unbalanced weapons for the sp, bad gameplay and level design.

Halo 2 has better vehicle encounters than Halo CE (i hate the HCE tank).
