Work on the second half of the campaign has been a focus for SPV3 as of the last few weeks. The first half will go into full testing once Evolved is released and Kirby has the time to fix the back end scripts.

woah woah wait a minute Flowmaster Leet.....

I haven't been back since say... End of July, and it's now the new year and neither SPv3 or Evolved has been released yet? Spare me the time searching through this thread and tell me what the hell happened for 5 months of delay? I was hoping it would all be done by the time i visited again, but 5 months bro?

A lot of bug fixing, rendering, re-rendering, re-re-rendering, and coffee breaks.

Continuing the discussion from the TSC:E thread, if CMT was to make an evade ability, what method would they use to do it?

You care FAR too much about this over hyped never-to-be-released amateur attempt at a mod.

Probably do a FP thruster like H5 did. It was pretty fun and more immersive than the roll or 3p thruster pack.

Does Pillar of Autumn have those boarding action-esque bsp's from Spv2?

Yeah, we did something sort of fun with the second one where it is now a mini maze of crates, and then an underground section with oxygen tanks and camo elites or brutes where you have to use VISR or flashlight to navigate. It's really simple but one of my favorite sections in it.

Since Oxygen tanks can be destroyed does it change up some your strategy's, like using it to your advantage.

That sounds very useful. And this is my last question but are you guys taking on the sentinel weapons, in terms of roles and I remember you saying currently you have both minor and major sentinel beams, stasis beam, incineration beam and the Spartan laser turned into a sentinel weapon aswell.

It's still to be decided what we will do but the incineration and spartan laser are both guaranteed.

Now that just made multiplayer Halo several degrees more ridiculous on its own, combined with armor lock. It definitely wasn't cool to see a bunch of online gamers randomly rolling around.

I have a name for the the sentinel's version of the Spartan laser, I was thinking particle cannon but it sounds kind of cheap.

It'll just be called focused heavy laser or something. I also have some stuff I was playing with for our version of the pulse lasers from h2. But all this will be re-examined once all stock part 2 maps are playable.

Hey masters, can you shed some light or give some tips as to how you guys did the "ragdoll-like" animation with the brutes? I want to do it with reach marines (possibly elites)

I created a ragdoll physics simulation in 3ds max's Reactor system for the Brute animation rig, and then I simulated some animations with the character being hit by an impact force from various angles.

How did you simulate the impact force? Kind of new to max

I don't quite remember the specifics of it, but I basically just animated another physics object in the scene to hit the Brute in the direction / area that the death animation needed.

Sentinel Cannon?

Also, since the evolved team has announced their retirement after it's released, will C20:E still happen under CMT?

This.
I really hope a new Evolved team rises up to take up the mantle.
An all new Library level would be so dope.

You guys did say you started work on the second half of the campaign?

C20:E is handled by Masterz and co. The Evolved team has been working exclusively on TSC:E leaving Masterz and co to work on everything else with a different tag set.

It's still in the pipeline, but it is only going to be started when the spv3 part 1 bsp are done, then there is a specific bsp for d40 that needs to be done and then c20:e will start. So it's a while out.

I believe Masterz said that dynamic lighting would not be seen in SPV3.

While the directional light mapping is gorgeous, its just not feasible to do it for all 50 something bsps for SPV3. If people are interested in learning DLMs, we will gladly invite them to work with us, but it's not something we can really commit to for the 50ish bsps we have. SPV3 TSC:E and The Commander will both be using the DLMs that were set up for the upping release of TSC:E though.

We will have news on the upcoming releases about a month after TSC:E releases. The delay of TSC:E and subsequent retirement of some members is a serious blow to the projected plans. Those who have been working on TSC:E have been working their butts off and can't really be expected to dive into another project right after, especially when TSC:E has taken more time than intended and their SPV3 contributions combined.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss (sobs...) Good luck anyway. I just played through A10 and A30 SPV2 for the first time today. Very well done. I look forward to seeing your team's improvment's on them.
