Animations are 30FPS. I don't see this as changing in Halo 1, even with OS.

Yeah, there's no changing the animation fps cap. The engine updates 30 times a second, only allowing a new frame on each update. It's the same reason why the only valid fire-rates for weapons are 30, 15, 10, 7.5, 6, 5, 4.29, 3.75, 3.33, 3, 2.73... per second, as an example.
HOWEVER, if anyone is up for a bit of experimentation, one could take a 60 fps animation and see how well it works in a singleplayer map with the game's speed doubled (game_speed 2). We may find there to be some potential if it turns out all that's needed to get decent results is to halve player walking speed/acceleration, projectile velocities, motion sensor sweeping, etc and double the duration of most of the in-game animations, among other things.

So I was playing SPV3 a50 on legendary today and I noticed that if an explosion goes off near dormant Plasma grenades, they catch on fire before they explode. I thought it was a great little detail and want to thank whoever came up with that idea.

It's actually a glitch, as it sets off the detonating effect normally used for the regular projectiles. It's been fixed in SPV3 so that chain reactions go off like in the original.
Also I will be streaming H2A at 12:01 Eastern Time Tuesday morning, and will be offering some insights into H2, H2A and SPV3 Dev.
