I hope beyond hope that that's a joke. There's no way a space station would make sense in Halo 1's campaign. If there was a space station, there would be no point in ever sending lifepods to Halo's atmosphere, because they could just go to the space station instead. Then they'd never find out about the fact that Halo's a weapon, and the universe would be destroyed before Halo 2 can even begin.

I can't see your laugh online. I don't have a webcam, and so can't know whether you're joking or not, ever. A joke obvious to you is obvious to you because you're as socially inadvanced as the person who made the joke and so finds it strangely funny even though it's actually a really bad joke that I was actually hoping WAS stupidity and not a joke, because other wise I fear for humanity's future.

So you:

A) Think it's reasonable to assume that is not a joke, and/or

B) Hope that is was an act of stupidity, because if it indeed was a joke, then it would show that the human race, is... also stupid?

If it's a joke (which it obviously is, at the very least to some degree) then it's certainly a bad one. Nonetheles, are you trying to make the claim that because you're of higher intelligence, it makes you less capable of accurately interpreting things said by those supposedly stupider than you?

That is a terrible idea, in my opinion. They wouldn't really fit in either, since the Humans are so spread out and low on supplies they wouldn't be able to spare the resources to go "assist" the one man killing machine.

Marines are part of the Navy, both in real life and in Halo... therefore, ODST's are part of the Navy.

Well I know that, but the SEALS are different from Recon. You're either a Recon Marine or a Navy SEAL. I'd say they're more like Recon, and the Spartans are more like the SEALS.

Well, who would be the Space department? Not the army. Not the airforce. Would they just make a space force? Well, since war on seas would be obsolete, the navy would migrate to space.

Besides, in Halo 3 and 2, everyone went to Earth. It'd be logical that you see SOME of the Navy. Probably the Army was in a different spot.

The most obvious and logical group to go would be the airforce. And why not the space force lol.

I don't think you can compare Spartans to either a Recon Marine or a Navy SEAL. Spartans are in essence really their own totally different subject, since the qualities of a spartan are basically marine like, however much more professional than a SEAL, Recon marine, or anything else. There brought up to be able to combat anything, wield any weapon, drive any vehicle on the ground or in the air, etc, etc...

The fact the human race is stupid enough to need armies in the first place is disappointing to say the least.

However, you can compare a science fictional military from 500 years in the future to our IDEAS from present day. Obviously, whatever happens in 500 years time will be influenced by what happens in the present day, so in 500 years time, the marines could still have some of the ideas that are utilised in the marines today.

But you can't say that they are closely similar or even exactly the same/based on each other as the advancements that could happen over 500 years are too great too have very close similarities.

Just my opinion.

This post is really stupid. You cannot generalize the human race what so ever, the entire "race" is completley different throughout the world. Armys are there to battle stupid countries when they do indeed come up, and armies are also there to protect other people and provide aid (Ever heard of the Salvation Army?). It isn't always about killing people, but it is part of it unfortunately. Some humans are indeed dumb, but again, not all. Nations military's are there to stop evil forces such as Germany's Nazi's during WW2 or to battle oppressive ideologies such as some forms of communism or facism to create a better world and secure human rights.
