This is going to be our last picture for a while (yes, it has our old logo, a new one is being worked on)

http://imageshack.com/a/img673/5605/Dvip2J.png

https://twitter.com/ficusgames/status/505745671404945408

Check out the blog as well, where we did a small roundup of all the pictures shown: http://ficusgames.blogspot.com/

We were going to release a video but felt like it wasn't exactly necessary - we want to make sure people realize that we are producing this for a game itself, not just an editor. The game will come with the editor in the future, but we want to make sure that we are not putting a ton of emphasis on the game engine and editor as it is not the sole focus of this project. These pictures are simply representations of what the game may eventually look like, and what the engine can do (currently).

Gives you that halo combat evolved feeling. Nice work I wonder where this will lead to.

Maybe it's just me but the trees look almost bare and the leaves look sorta.....paperish? It almost looks like someone made an image with a couple of leaves pasted in and then put it on a plane then moved it next to the branches. Dunno if you understand what I am trying to say. Everything else looks pretty good though! This is probably too early but what you aiming for when it comes to hardware. Do you expect a game made on your engine to run on average hardware well?

I hope that I'm not the only one who hates going through so many menu screens just to get to what I want to do. I'd rather have it compact and simple to access.

I've been taking a lot of pictures in Halo recently in an effort to upgrade all the map images in a certain UI project.

A bit better than stretched squares, I'm hoping...

I don't really think it's worth the effort of revamping the pics of the old firefight and campaign , picture bio thingies.

Generally speaking it would be a wasted effort since most of use have already played those maps. But that is just my view, go with whatever gut feeling you have.

I like it.
It's nice to have a clean presentation when it comes to UIs.
And I haven't played a lot of the custom campaign maps (I downloaded heaps in the past month) so these pictures are great I think.

This is my first attempt at a camera motion, so it's probably not that good. The dance animation was ported from MikuMikuDance.

Edit reason:
I forgot to mention that of course it was rendered in 3ds Max.

Aside from the occasional jerk in the camera movement, it was pretty good. an easy way to get camera movement to be smooth in max would be to either use the curve editor or use the Track (I think that's what it's called) tool in Max. Draw out a path with a spline and the camera will follow it exactly.

I started working on prop hunt map/gametype/script thingy today. Nothing too fancy yet but you can see the basics http://zhtw.xfire.com/video/62cddf/

I can't really proceed until I fix the blue team spawn issue though.

I also can't really proceed until we can disable this installation's security system.

Ask ssflanker he is a half decent texturer, but sometimes a jerk.

And uv'ing is easy, tedious but easy are you sure you are doing it right?

I think it looked better when it was cleaner. You should make it so that the dirt/rust details are more visible only around the main edges of the model

The bottom picture is just something I made up. I'm actually thinking of carving it into a physical amulet to wear on a chain or something. Or 3D print it

Reminds me of that time when Grunts posted an extruded plane and went on about it being a 'WIP Falcon' in the Vehicles thread. Oh, back when this forum was actually funny :'(

I think a light bridge has no weight and therefore wouldn't need the supporting structure.

Agreed with Maniac.
The lightbridge itself is fine imo, nothing special, but very acceptable.

Done, sorry it took so long.

Uv feed back pics:

UV sheet (old):

Glamour shadows:

Okay now the horror story:

Your model although deceivingly sexy contained: illegal faces, double faces, intersecting edges, random loose verts e.t.c (all fixed)

More horror:

The original tris count of your model topped out at around 4500 tris, nearly half of that had been assigned to the engines at the rear of your ship, added to that I noticed nearly 85% of your model had been subdivided.

Extra edges &or verts which do not support a piece of geometry in any way shape or form are considered useless, taking that into account I reduced your overall tris count to just under 2,000 tris. :)

Tips + tricks:

When modelling try and split your project into sections rather than trying to model everything in one object.

Also, once you feel you have reached a significant milestone within your project it's wise to revise.....weld all verts at a threshold of 0.01 and perform an stl check.

Apart from that, nice model hope to see it in game some time.

(pm'd u the file)
