I'm preety sure Gravemind has the tools, but he don't release them because of something...
(*cough*noob_ripped_maps*cough*)

What's with you faggots and blaming rips for everything?

In my personal opinion, is an insult to the entire halo franchise and story. just look at some crappy attempts to recreate a great game like reach.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

You wouldn't have to play 'em. The Halo franchise and story don't care, why should you?

It's also the least closest thing to creativity.

Ah, i thought it was like a surface or something
You can play Halo using a tablet as a mouse. It's about the worst idea ever.

Repaired my TI-nSpire the other day, working on low-poly collision and curved cylinders, fun agian!

mmm... you're gonna love the shaders, but I wont reveal too much.
P.S. curving cylinders on a parabola table is a great way to make perfect smooth arches

Probably the perspective, but in the first picture it looks like there is some major clipping of a tree shadow.

Also any modern day engine could do that in about 5 seconds ALL HAIL CRYENGINE!!! jk

Been trying to do one each night. I did this one for about 30 - 45 minutes and then got distracted. Feel free to destroy it, because its bad.

It's not bad, it's just not good.
(trying to be honest here)
Your perspective might be too far away. If you focused on drawing something more specific with a clearer image in mind rather than a general landscape it might be more pleasing to the eye.

There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the cliffs and the ground. I thought the ground was grass at first, but the cliffs are steep enough that they seem like they'd be made of rocks.

I think the horizon is too high as well, and it seems like you were aiming for some long perspective, but it doesn't feel like the river is getting small enough in the horizon.

Hey guys! If you are intrested, polycount is running a "noob challenge". theres no prize, but you get alot of experience in modeling!

http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127503

Come check it out, its quite fun so far. You can use Halo's engine if you would like, but most people there will probably be using UDK or Cryengine.

My progress so far:

just a blockout. gonna use zbrush next and get about 9~ assets sculpted and baked down @_@

They actually had collision and everything, but I just lost interest.

Then why post it at all, you were even too lazy to take a picture that wasnt a screen cap straight from sapien. Without the tower & the rest it just looks bland and no one will care.

Maybe try putting on some proper iron-sights on the top alongside the ridged parts, apart from that it's pretty good.

Is that effect thanks to bloom or fog?

?

The bloom is just OS's standard bloom. The fog just appeared there when I first started it up in sapien, and I kept it.
