so i loaded up the second bsp of a30 this morning and i noticed the sky wasn't working, so i went and re-extracted it, just when i had though i had seen it all this happened: im assuming theyre corrupted bitmaps, so i will go back and look for non corrupted ones. but i have never ever seen an entire maps bitmaps become corrupted at once XD Edited by killzone64 on Feb 19, 2013 at 10:37 AMOK so i fixed my bitmaps but the sky will not show up its just black... annd since this is a wip thread i have almost finished my Gauss hog, all it needs is a few small shader tweaks and some better effects and its ready to be released Edited by killzone64 on Feb 19, 2013 at 11:10 AM

warthog looks smexy, but you might want to reduce the specular
also, you should probably work on the gauss beam

yea that was all in the plan, i do need help with the effects as i am horrible at making them...
so in that case i will upload the warthog after i tweak shaders and someone else can do particles and effects if they would like, ill still work on them but it will be a while longer then someone who is more experienced with them
also does anyone have any idea on how to fix the black sky issue? Edited by killzone64 on Feb 19, 2013 at 12:44 PM

Looks pretty good~ ...kinda reminds me of the Halo 3 ODST HUD.
Just curious, what's the thing on the bottom right?

I like how the hud has the ordinance element in the corner. You ought to use it in an actual map - tiss purdy indeed. Maybe if the game doesn't have ordinance, you could instead put a score counter or something there, like in H3

Looks stunning. Almost as good as reach. EDIT: Well, the rig is more or less done. I can pose it however I need it too without glaring problems, but there's still a few things I want to adjust. Here's a quick animation test I did. Having issues with the thumb. If only max didn't group biped part keyframes togteher when they are on the same frame, and I could just start the thumb's animation over without removing the animation on all the other fingers. If anybody has some tips for getting the thumb right, please tell me. Edited by jabberwockxeno on Mar 3, 2013 at 06:38 PM

Then you can start anew.

Then you can start anew. For some reason, MAX has all of the movement of the biped "bones" grouped together in single keyframes. IE: all the movement for frame X for all the fingers in in a single keyframe, instead of one for each finger bone. If I can figure out a way to undo that, then I can just delete the thumb ones. EDIT: A little better.
<snip It looks pretty natural right up until he puts his hand into a fist. The problem could be that his fingers are moving too slow and the thumb is a bit awry, but I would think that's what you're having trouble with. My main concern is that the rest of the forearm/wrist/palm area doesn't move at all.

My main concern is that the rest of the forearm/wrist/palm area doesn't move at all. Yeah, that was my number 2 thing to fix after the thumb. The issue I have now though is that it won't let me set any more normal keyframes for the biped parts. THe sliding/planted/free keyframes work though. Any ideas on how to fix that?

Do xbox maps have readable tags or do they only contain meta?
I was thinking of studying them to find patterns(seeing of there are any functions that only work ingame if certain flags are ticked in the tags) but I'm too reluctant to get my small room dirty just to debug >:(
EDIT!!!!! I don't think I've ever been drunk before, actually I don't like it :( EDIT2> That was a good night Edited by OrangeJuice on Mar 14, 2013 at 07:35 PM
