Can you make a tutorial on how to edit the widgets and strings and stuff? I can make my own bitmaps and sprites, but I have no idea how the UI tags work.

Why don't people make multilingual UI with both Spanish and English translations. Granted it is nice to have the Spanish translation for those who speak it because it is such a widely used language but many of the people who *ahem* actually own and are able to use all content of the halo CE game (not meant to sound racist because I am not a racist that's just how as everyone knows, it is) speak either English or both English and Spanish or another language.

Judging since Jesse got offline and didn't get back on after he showed me his screenshot I guess he wanted for me to post it.


On a side note the fp arms are finished, theres now detail maps added and its final, will give to jesse later.

Well, I mean as far as custom UI's that we see for example in Paris Perdu and others. Why are some of them so selective that they only show up in one language?

It's just a cache file of commonly used tags.

I was planning to make some maps, that before entering the game a message would promp asking your language and that will not affect the other players in the same map :P

But...I am just tooooooooooooooooo lazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :/

I though that "The Package," "Ghost," and "Origins" were the best ones. Spartan-1337's episode was just sheerly entertaining.


I would only recommend seeing Origins part 1 and 2, and Prototype. The one with spartan 1337 (rofl) is more like something you would see on cartoon network.


Unfortunately, that was the episode i saw FIRST, and let me just say that the stupidity of it absolutely ruined all of halo legends for me.


Hey, "Odd one out" was a good episode (also may be a good momma's day present) it was produced by TOEI animation and wasn't ment to be canonical. Plus its a great link between Halo and Dragonball Z.

Anyway I like the Idea of having that HUD.
Oddly enough "Odd one out" was my favorite one.

Origins was pretty interesting and The Package looked like it had not be made by professionals except the modeling was professional.

Looking for some crit. This will be going into my new map I am working on if acceptable enough. I may make it lower poly though. Poly count on all 8 makes me :'( as it is now. (no you don't get to know the poly count )

Wires ATM are meh even in my opinion. But my Q is, does it look passable?

Looks cool. It seems like it would act as a bridge between the sides of the higher level. I don't know if that's what you're aiming for. Just remember, shaders are everything. If you do good shader work on these, it will make up for the low amount of polygons you will have. Also, the strings are a nice touch.

yeah the short circuit shield idea I had thought of actually. I am also trying to decide whether I should make the wires even more low poly and if they should hang from the ceiling at all or maybe just make a straight shot to the floor or something.
I would also rather not waste poly on all this when I still want to have electrical boxes, wires, a few pipes, some vents hanging on the ceiling, railings, ladders, and fences strewn about the complex.

Yes I want to get some plane wires up against the walls. With a good bump, it will look decent. I am going to go for most realistic I can and we'll see where the poly count is later.

BTW, is the 10000 poly limit a set limit or is that a recommended limit. Granted I don't want to go much over it even if it is only a recommended limit, I just want to know if I CAN go over it.

Well, I didn't really have it planned for people to use that as a bridge, but hey, it may happen. Though if I find some way to implement the power drain, that would be perhaps a bad thing to use as a bridge anyway.

Cool! I will message yout when I am ready for it. Is there anything special you need within the model for it to be done to define the region? I'm not knowledgeable about scripts here so I'm not sure.

Most likely you would just script a damage effect to occur on the player that drains shields without effecting health.

Hey guys, On the map I am working on, generator facility, it was requested to make some natural tunnels, but as of now, I am thinking that is not looking good. Maybe it's just my opinion, or maybe it's the way I am going about it, but I don't think that it really fits well with a place that is supposed to be of importance such as this so I will be scrapping the idea for now. It's simply not looking good at all. However, when I expand the map to be good for zombies, I do have a way I can make it look good so I will be implementing it in that.

I am taking ideas also for the map, however some may not be implemented in this build since I am making this build geared more for multiplayer and the next for zombies.

Also, in Halo 3, the box is around the frag nades, but on Jesse's HUD, it's around the plasmas.
