Quote: --- Original message by: Dark NeonI got bored last night, so I started making the Halo 3 retail scorpion. To do: Fix the materials or some places. Give the anti-infantry turret a seperate shader Fix the sinking treads Do shaders Credit: Bungie for model and bitmaps Me for ingaming it Edited by Dark Neon on Jun 28, 2010 at 10:58 PM ok so I notice the H3 Hornet, ghosts and bipeds in the back. WHEN will this become a playable map?? just add a Chopper and it will be pretty much H3 on the PC. although some1 would have to work on the weapons... Also @ WASP thing, looks good but I still don't get what the hell that bomb thing on the bottom is for. Is that an afterburner/engine or a bomb/rocket cuz in the old wasp you couldn't exactly use it... also why havn't we made one of those in real life? looks feasible... not safe, yet possible

It is a model for a real life ref. My grandpa has worked in aviation and jets for years, building planes, he's gonna help with the project, it seems crazy, but he has REAL blueprints for it, they built one for the movie "The Island" it wasnt functional, but someone made real blueprints, and he has them. It's called the Kancept, and I've sat on the real model before :)

I see them fly over my house all the time. I suggest a multi-directional ventelation system, composed of 4 to 6 thrust directions, you can use a single mini-jet for this. You will not get it more than maybe 20 feet off the ground though. The bike will become too hot if you use inproper methods, and melt/burn itself till it either gets too hot for you to hold on to, or it will simply melt itself to the point where it shutsdown indefinately. An A-10 Thunderbolt II engine can roast a Ford F150 Crew-cab V8 aluminum engine block within 20 seconds at full throttle

Yea, it's planned to work in the ways as a ghost does. Like 5ft off the ground fast, replacing that extra 15ft up it could handle for extra speed

It wont be legal to drive except around your own property. As for speed and handling, jets need speed to handle well, they won't handle very well without a good throttle control, so speed is a must, but consider the core temperature. If you do not control that well enough, WHOOP! There is goes! There goes the lawn, and the house too..... =P Now if you can get it to a REAL airport, or small-port (for casenas and leer jets, then your good to go, that ground cover is designed to be smooth, slick, durable, and heat-treated for jet engines and high friction from landings). Dad used to work on jets as an engineer for the military, he also flew airplanes, I have about 8 hours of flight time in attack choppers and 12 hours of flight time in leer jets. casenas are easy, maybe 35 hours, will check tonight, my flight log is somewhere in my room =P.

I think any near future applications for this craft would be military only annyway, so I don't think runway is a problem.

Is that jet powered or is it just normal propellers? Youd want to keep ur arms in front of you the whole time... Ive seen rocket powered ones which look safer, but are more likely to explode and/or burn you to death Edited by Gravemind on Jul 2, 2010 at 02:36 AM

RE: H3_Hornet:
Last night I uploaded "Hornets Nest" - basic canyon map, with large sky. Give the hornet a fly ad and you see that the effects I edited make the entire hornet better (imo) than mangenko released ones - and the tags are organized into one folder (my re-tagging and re-release still had a bad reference to a flare). The sound is much much better, and I combined the engine light volumes with a light exhaust, plus a low speed flame (like a pilot light). The added effects I am sure will add, not detract from an awesome vehicle - great job mangenko/Martyn Lee Ball!
Also, using Bacon/Baturkins player animations, and edited mongoose from the other h3 sand trap, you can now have classic weapons heads up on the mongoose - with a little more tagging, I am sure you can place the weapon labels within the same animations and get it to work.
Maybe they may be of use to you?
