im making a flyable h3 phantom. so far its at 50 percent complete. things left to do is:
-replace physics with either pelican or spirit physics, which one would be better?
- side turrets, hopefully retail h3 ones. im tagging them the same way cmt tagged the pelican's rear gunner and the extra shade turrets on the spirit
-new collision model. im using the old one from the h2 phantom. i cant model too well and i would really appreciate it if someone will take the existing model i have and make a good collision for it.

and after that, thats pretty much it, except for a little shader touch up if possible.

Ugh. That phantom color looks really bad...

It's like you just used color change to make it purple...bleck

I would show mine but unfortunately with my directx killing me I cant get a screenshot of it.

I have the raw stuff for the h3r plasma turrets if u want it, PM if u do.
The bluestreak JMS exporter freezes every time i try to export so i cant tag anything....

it adds more polys that it needs to be

using a phantom I got from Dee I had somewhere around ~5500 polys

with you using double sided i think its now somewhere at ~10000 polys

i know, it took for ever to export, my model ripper gives me flipped faces and all sorts of other crap. i didnt want to spend hours flipping all those faces

since there is no way you would be nice enough to give me the model, ill take my chances with what i have. it will look better before its done, i just need to find out how to improve the shader

Dude just flip the faces, it's not hard at all and requires very little effort.

I'm with hunter on that.

If you have rips, you'd better perfect them, being the fact its not your work.

Rips with a bad quality port, is horrible for your rep.

Extractor. Select the faces and flip em.

lol, of course flipping them is how you flip them... I dont think its the extractor, both the ones i have do the flipped faces thing

Just open the .max file and flip the faces, then re export.

Orionflame is a set of tools for 3ds max, it comes as a max script.

It has a function called "unify normals" (i wouldnt be surprised if max also has a tool for this)
It will give great results in flipping the correct faces for you.

The detail map could use some work. I mean, it looks too blurry and splotchy, probably because it's low-res.
Maybe you or, in the case you can't texture well, someone else can make a higher res, not-so-blurry version?
Maybe there is already one out?
In any case that phantom would look at least 100% better with a higher res detail map.

When you import the extracted model into max, the faces are all flipped round the wrong ways, and unifying them doesnt always fix it well enough. Also, some people are too lazy to flip them manually, because it takes ages.

The helicopter looks like you got it off of turbosquid's site for free and it looked nice and then you added a huge block in the back with a plane coming off it and attached a gun to it which looks ugly but the smaller turret and and heli looks pretty nice

I dont know if he was saying that he never made it, i think he was just saying that it looked good.
Either way, I agree with the comments about the horrible boxy part though.
