i would suggest adding more details or decals or w/evs, but it was really great seeing Terry McGinnis ingame.

Try moving the "right foot" and "left foot" markers up so that they're halfway inside the mesh of the feet, because they're what judge where the ground point is(look at the bottom of the biped tag).

You don't really need the transform animations and the sounds can be easily recorded.
As for spectacular maps,I would like to nominate Lumoria.And any map isn't a simple remake with new weapons.

Ahoy thur felluhs






Took a while since there were 50+ materials I had to mess with. This here is shrunk down to 13 materials/shaders.
It's in a .scenery state at the moment, but it's my next rigging project (going to do it to default halo 1 elite boneset).
ALL shaders are placeholders.

That elite looks great, perhaps add just a tad more shinyness to the shaders.

Those shaders aren't bad at all. If you've done/plan to do the other Reach elite permutations, I will probably squeal gleefully like a little girl getting tickets to a Justin Bieber concert.

Just an simple reflection diffuse metal cubemap is good. Or cubemap mirror surface ! Not always take from the other halo games ! Halo 1 has a good potential.

Just to show what happened when I put the pre-rig on the new bones.


The one on the left is scenery, and the one on the right is biped.

Oh, and the compiled thing said something about region counts not matching... Dunno what it means or how to fix it.
4 regions on the HCE elite, 4 regions on my elite. *shrug*

halo reach elite heads looked ugly, so I removed them!

and made better (stupidly high-poly) versions instead!

I forget where the severed texture is applied, but I thought it would be cool (and mildly disturbing) to re-UV them to the neck and arms. thanks, R93_Sniper, for the biped!

hooray for 3ds max's bump map rendering!
high poly=33000+ triangles, including eyes and teeth
low poly= 1180, including eyes and teeth
high poly, low poly + bake, low poly


now on to texturing + rigging.

Reach Elite Biped update guys.

I tried this and I tried that, but I just can't seem to manipulate the rig the way I want it to. There's screw ups in the stomach area, and a huge stretch in the right clavicle area.

Also, I made a new collision for the elite because the old one's region counts didn't match. But now the Reach Elite just won't die. Except by assassination. Any ideas?

Nvm. I went back to 3dsmax to redo the collision and changed some values in guerilla and fixed it.

E: Actors INGAME!
I haven't set up a multi-texture for the shader so for now the whole biped is blue-ish. I'll probably do that tomorrow.

The only thing I see wrong is that it doesn't look like it's even holding the plasma repeater.

I'd love to see this in game, or at least a model of it.

I've tried on numerous occasions to model it but I'm terrible at it.

the kneepads are smaller and don't stick out as much, the leg verts that connect to said kneepads are higher to make a downward slope, and the 2 slits on the legs are diamond-shaped, not hexagonal.
