I actually quite like the port. Shaders have dirt effect and stuff, but maybe give it a bit more shine? Looks a bit dull right now, and needs bettar fakebump.

fakebump? get off that wagon.

basically it is an AO, and a bad way of doing it as well. which is why making it custom is better as you can make a better result for this particular engine.

I dont need feedback. I'll change my shaders accordingly and I'll get it from other people. I'm just posting on progress and don't need feedback unless I ask for it.

Though blantly saying its plastic will not help me better my "feedback". Explain in detail and I'll take your "feedback" into account.

Hunter is right. Also I don't just load a normal map through photoshop, if I do that the texture will be very bright which doesn't mix well when in-game. I try to bump it in a way but not make it look so crappy.

Not that crap dark line fakebump, i was gonna say the method I use but you probably wouldn't care. It's very similar to darklord's fakebump

But I have the option to ignore them which is very easy and nobody will know but me. BUT that will make me look ignorant.

But in other news about the reach spartan I copied the same h3 shader ones except modifying it slightly to the reach ones. I'll come back to it later for attention. I still need to fix the rigging and fix the left hand. And add a second gbx model with a optimized model of the spartan.

I did add it would make me look ignorant but yeah. I did say though the shaders were a quick rehash from the h3 spartan shaders, I would work on them since I can clearly tell, besides I don't like it. You should remember though my over 1000 attempts at the h3 spartan shaders before I came to an agreement with myself and liked it. Expect this one to take a while but not as long as the h3 ones.

Didn't I JUST say those shaders were quickly rehashed off of the h3 ones I did. People, I said I would take the time to do it later on when I fix other things about it.

I agree here. I think it looks nice, but needs a bit more detail and vibrancy in some areas.

The reason they say it is because they don't care how long you worked on it for. If you think you didn't work on it for long enough to be presentable then why post it? If you thought it was presentable then why would you not expect people to reply to your post? It's a WIP, we get it. That doesn't mean we shouldn't point out the flaws with it. Only if I do this privately. But that wont happen.

Still working on the shaders, not satisfied with how it shines since it still looks plasticy and not metal. And I have yet to add a detail map to the armor. Only the rubber suit has one.

This is the Marine from the original E3 demo of Halo: Combat Evolved. I've noticed they didn't seem to keep him in-game for long, although he vaguely resembles Chips Dubbo (below). Could somebody modify him into his E3 counterpart?


Notable Modifications:
•Short sleeves.
•Red transparent eyepiece, non-holographic.
•No helmet mic.
•Uniform is more of a dull, faded, off-white color.

I'd like to use him in an upcoming level, so I'd be grateful for any assistance.

Basically to make the E3 marine now is modify the unarmored marine that's sleeveless, slap some armor parts on and do some other minor changes and that's it?

Stop making Reach/Halo 4 teams. Do something original. You'll have too much competition anyway. Look at the old Halo 3 teams, for example. Only about 2 or 3 prevailed.

Things to fix:

-helmet_addon_vis has wrong shader_model, notice its kinda off (which non of you caught)
-needs a better rig and bone placement
-need to fix left hand/how its curled
-need to have an 2nd gbx_model but "optimized" (even though I have had 20 of them on my screen with no lag)
-need to add lights

anything else? I won't talk back unless your criticizing about my shaders
