I love how on one else noticed how off the back of that pistol is compared to reach, or at least never bothered to speak up.

Does it matter? It doesn't have to be like Reach's.

For lack of a better place, I'm putting this here - it's the (finally) completed reload segment of the Battle Rifle FP Animation Tutorial! It's only 11 months late!

(It's also 2 hours long between the two parts so I suggest you get a snack + put on some music)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTOv4O6ZlRo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dM1iVRfwRA

Now, here's my question: would it be worth my time to put together a FP animation resource thread? Like, something with all the tutorials and relevant files? I was thinking of it but I know how easily things get lost in these forums, I wouldn't want it to go to waste. Additionally would anyone be willing to contribute to such a thread? (In the form of posting other resources like fp arms, other tutorials, etc)

That should be a useful tutorial. Bit long though.

And as for your thread idea I recommend going for it. Would help everyone that want's to learn/do FP animations.

I was always thinking of making a tutorial thread on making origins and showing pictures and my thought-process, but I've never been sure of how to go about it.

Certainly FP Animation is one of the more misunderstood parts in my opinion and it'd be nice for a tutorial thread. The problem of getting lost because it's not sticky'd though would be annoying unless we got it linked in a main tutorial thread somewhere.

I love how on one else noticed how off the back of that pistol is compared to reach, or at least never bothered to speak up.

it's looks like a switch that, if pushed in, will make the pistol look like its appearance in Reach. So you can argue that they're both the same gun, just in different states.
That, or it's a mechanism designed to kill anyone who's too weak to control the recoil and lets the stub bash their forehead.

Also, the demoman's bottle only breaks when you crit with it, not normal hits. Never see any bottles anymore. It's all those faggots with swords.

The Demoman's bottle breaks randomly after hitting anything. I would always smack the wall with my melee weapon before getting to battle and the bottle would always break. Not sure after how many hits, somewhere between 1-3.

Never actually noticed that on the reach pistol.

And with the Demoman I USE T3H B07TL3!!!!!

I have only had it break on enemy's. Who knows... I hate all those idiots with swords and the fact I don't get anything in TF2 even though I paid a good 20 bucks(I think?) for it... they shoulda given people 20 bucks worth of free stuff for having paid for it... /ranting

What is special about the merc badge anyway? TF2 is a war themed hat simulator anyway.

Could be greatly improved. Sorry to say it doesn't seem like much effort was put into that (using stock "stand rifle" animations for the third-person? Really?).

The first person part was the main bit, havent got to 3rd person yet.

Ah, alright. Let me edit my to-do list in that case.

My to-do list for today:
[x] Tell people they're stupid.
[x] Tell people they're dumb.
[ ] Do something that isn't 100% perfect.
[ ] Gain humility.
[x] Tell people that what they do is really easy for you.
[ ] Remove Spartin's sphincter muscle with a fishhook (postponed... THIS time...)

I will take your expert, helpfull and correct information that is in no way bostfull.

Also, thankyou for telling me that there is only one sphincter in the body, I was under the idea that there where over 50.

Also, nobody is 100% perfect. The mere fact that you think that you are meens that your statment is not true, therefor making a paradox.

Just for those snide comments, the fishhook's coming out on its regularly scheduled visit. While there may be many sphincters in the body, there is only one which we refer to as "THE sphincter."

No, when you compile the anims it creates a whole new set, there is no way around this. You can, however use the ghost anim importer (I think its TheGhosts, might not be.) for the weapon you're trying to animate partially, and export those anims. Otherwise, no.

http://www.cereal-killer.tucker933.com/Random/Animation_Importer_v1-0-3.ms Use that script for 3ds. It allows you to not only import animations from a graph into 3ds, but if you hit the "export all" button and choose a directory, it will take all animations from the graph and put them into that directory as their JMA/JMO/etc. form.
