He says the reason for this thread is to get helpers, but that just isn't how it works. You can't just enlist a coder or two and then just throw them at the 'problem'; as the creator of a project your job is to provide a stable framework for everyone to operate off of, be it a grand design or a legitimate engine. As it stands there's no central idea here, only 'I'm going to make an MMO!' which isn't going to get anyone anywhere.
If you're serious about this I'd really recommend investing some time into thinking this through a bit more. Anyone can learn anything given the time.
if you've got constructive criticism ill be glad to read it but if your just here to say "f*** off" then take your own advise cause i know this project has holes and my communication skills aren't helping at all but im sure there are people who have faith, maybe even a spark of hope for this and that's why i keep going. yes, there are problems with the design for this game, SO HELP ME FIX IT, DON'T SHOW ME THE DOOR! you don't need to join the club but don't tell me to leave this behind i've put to much in and so has p3, i never could have designed a hatchet, axe, tomahawk (whatever!) that good but he did. meaning he believed this project could go somewhere. give a little time, have a little faith and lend your knowledge here and there, don't shove it off on first read.

well i guess we should start getting work to everyone...
creative designers, can you guys start thinking up some planets, like landscapes, inhabitants, back stories, etc. we'll need a fair few planets for this sort of thing to work
story designers, can authenticate for the creative designers and start thinking up missions
modelers, try and recreate some scenes from the books or the movies, anyone who can do the mark VII armor worn by spartan 010 i would praise for the rest of my life, i would do it but i dont have the imagination to do the back, cause the only 2 good pics of her (only one of them is even very good)
texturer's just do some general stuff like reoccurring environments and the what not.
animators there's not much you guys can do until we get organised
if your like me and like to have reference models to work, we could use some way to get at the spartan armor from halo 4 so if anyone knows of a way eternal gratitude will be given to you.

wireddragon93, we do need a texture guy so if you want in i'd be happy to say yes but its the whole teams vote on who comes in.
YesUar, we need imagination for this (cause i certainly don't have one) and that gets a yes from me but do you have any other skills in computers??? as for your computer status theres a great $800 laptop i just bought that has a quad processor and a 1GB grafrics card!! thats a pretty sweet deal. got it at Harvey Norman.

i get them to and from 3ds max without any of those problems, i just export as obj from sketchup and import to max... done. (sketchupPRO)

it is the weakest but fastest 2 handed weapon in the game. the hammer is the slowest and strongest and the spear is medium but can be thrown. (not something i would use often)

im aware of the rules, nut how do you think ensemble made halo wars? they got permission from bungie to make the game and gave them a total percentage of net profits. of course everything will be free until we can prove to 343 that this is worth taking a chance on and then it should be fine. the challenge is proving it to them, and i dont know about the rest of you, but im up for it.

you read wrong, you can't leave the milky way, its only inhabitable planets in our galaxy, different galaxies is just too far. and silk has been urging me to agree to start smaller than an mmo and ive heavily considered taking his advice. as for original games, silk (again with silk) already had a world worked out for a game and we planned to make it at some point but we just need to work out the finner details, if you want to talk briefly on that silk, im sure it wouldnt be too bad but we should start a topic on a different forum for heavy discussion. and if you've got something p3 we could have a look and see if it can be used at some point as well. for those of you who havnt figured it out silk = silkbeard Edited by TheDave7365 on Jun 26, 2013 at 08:47 AM Edited by TheDave7365 on Jun 26, 2013 at 08:51 AM

yes xtralaos you are correct. ive said this phrase before and i may say it many times more. i was sort of aware of this. the reason im here right now to make this is to get an alpha and anyone who wants to help in on it and later offer them permanent places on the team. the only way to get funding for a game is to bring an alpha and info when you go to get sponsors. that still a time away but this is how most games and companies start, with a group of people trying to achieve something. whether it be a group of friends, an online community or both, this is where it begins, you can resign if you feel you are not up to this. i wont blame you. but you gotta walk through dessert before you find paradise. anyway as for the computer, think 4th dimensionally, this will take years to perfect and by then we will have computers more than capable of this plus the loading system i described earlier should reduce the load by several times what it would be without it. i was hopping for about that number by the end of this whole thing. and it probably wont even be the ce engine any more when were done with it but until then or when we get someone who knows about other engines its what we've got.
