...it freezes, and then comes up with an error box saying my graphics card crashed. To add to the fun, everything turned 4-bit! It can be fixed with a simple reboot, but I still would like to know why it does that. It usually only occurs when large maps are loaded.

According to the Intel site there are no known issues with it running Halo using the latest drivers. See: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel915gm/sb/CS-020153.htm Be sure you have the latest drivers. Remember that the big maps are usually not portaled correctly and really tax the graphic processor. So normal Halo may run fine you might have problems with poorly made big maps.

Wow.... odd.... I think sapein blew up your gfx card. Also i like the transformers backround in 4 bit. But I like my backround better.
