Ok, recently i feel like making a series of space maps, space related vehicles (gonna need help with that), and space related objects. So... uh...... first question: What would be the recommended size for a space map?

It's space. A fairly large map would be good.... as long as it's not hugeass size.

Ya also make it Halo themed. You know maybe The POA and a Capital ship across from eachother and Halo in the distance.

what you want to do is make a collasal box in 3ds max and give it the material id +sky. then in guerrilla, make the sky something like a10.sky er somthin. nuff said.

Or, you could make a giant floating asteroid that appears to be in orbit around Halo. Woah, thats just crazy enough to work...

well, i have a idea: first off does anyone know if they can model the carrier on the pics from this topic and give it interior: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=9640Next: make a map that is about X=40,000, Y=40,000, Z=70,000. Being that space is huge and a map that size gives me a idea: first part to make the idea is to make a kinda dust cloud effect, you know like in games like HomeWorld 2 there is a place called the Karos Graveyard, and it has a whole bunch of radioactive debris in it, Im gonna need help making a kinda "cloud" effect where it makes a cloud of space dust. next, make some huge bulk & debris to put in the radioactive cloud. Next, put the radoiactive cloud & the derbis in the middle of the map, so it will be like this: Red Station=top, Blue Station=bottom. There will be a trigger volume to kill the player if they enter the radioactive debris unless they are in a vehicle. Red Base= Blue Base=  Also, To Killer Kiwi or any other good scripters out there, is it possible to make a script to enter a trigger volume that kills you unless your in a vehicle?

well no, since he is inside Mjolnir spartan armor, the armor can survive in space for up to 90 minutes (if you read Halo: The Fall of reach or any of the other halo books youd know this.) But if he enters the radioactive dust cloud he will die due to the fact the Mjolnir armor doesn't protect agaisnt radiation, well, not to my knowledge it doesn't. But if your in a vehicle and you pass through the Radioactive dust cloud you wont die becuase the vehicles have radiation deflection armor. so, ya. Edited by MechWarrior001 on Jul 3, 2007 at 04:06 AM

In the books dont the energy shielding protect against radiation? Plus if the ships were inside a radioactive dust cloud they would take damage, since the bays are open, just like in homeworld 2's MP map Terah, The middle nebula incurs damage to ships. Plus you wouldnt die instantly from exposure, at least i dont think you can anyway.

Hmm....lets do this: you can go through the nebula, but it will rapidly decrease your shield strength and start taking away your health at a decent rate, not too fast, not too slow. If you go through it in a vehicle, the vehicle will start taking damage, (this is set up in collision tag pay attention first time mappers), and when the vehicle reaches zero armor, due to a script you will be ejected and the ship will fall to the bottom of the map. and then it will respawn. Also, when your in a ship and taking fire from another ship, your ship takes the damage for you, until it runs out of armor and your ship gets "destroyed" (gonna have to make new permutations for these ships.) Also, it doesn't really "eject" you due to scripting youll have to press the action button after it gets destroyed to "eject" yourself, you have 10 seconds to exit the vehicle before you get destroyed with it. Also, if you leave your base without getting in a ship, you will "fall" (ill put kinda like a planet type thing outside the map) and you will "fall" towards the planet due to gravity from it & you will eventualy enter a trigger volume that kills you. Then you respawn back at base a little bit wiser.
