The spotlight turret will basically be a completely AI controlled turret. (i highly doubt anyone wants to waste time sitting in a spotlight turret when they could be pwning) it will basicaly be used in the role of targeting enemy's that come near it. Im hoping to make this becuase in some maps it's night time, so there is a lot more cover to choose from. Also, Adding AI controlled spotlight turrets to a base would make it seem a little more realistic. Im hoping to find a way to make it so that when there is two or more enemys in it's range it doesnt go and glitch up by rapidly switching between the two and making itself look like it's on speed.

Only problem with that idea is that AI cannot sync over the internet, and don't ask if it ever could be, been there done that... it's impossible.

yup vehicles sync with a built-in gunner it will work right there but how do you actualy make the spotlight part

vehicles deffinantly sync otherwise you wouldnt be able to shoot somebody with a warthog =D

want just the turret part, or a whole tower for it? also, what scale you want it at? like MC tall?

Ok, i basicaly need a pole that is three MCs tall, and a turret type device that doesn't fire anything but is a vehicle. so that way it can be manned by a AI gunner, also, I need it to emit a very large spotlight, kinda like the Mc's flashlight that emits a circle of light when flashed on a wall but make the radius like, 3 times bigger.

AI gunners don't sync, Built-in gunners do. You're going to have to make it have a built-in gunner.

if it's built in gunner the vehicle automatically becomes AI controlled.

lol thats funny but yea this will be interesting hey i could make you a spotlight if you help me with my hog, and the built in gunner youll have to do yourself


EDIT:now that i think about it would the light fixture sync, yea just like the warthog's headlights

i have another post on it called i created a custom warthog...this went wrong i can get you the model for the thing quickly and a nice model and i can create the light_fixture tag to put on it for ya

ill tag it up when I get new mouse batteries.. also, is super intelegent AI fine?.. lol, I love my smart AI.. they are beter than humans, so he would be looking at people constantly lol, so picking a target and then everyone attacks that target. people would have to be stealthy behind items hoping he would shine at someone else lol. acualy, active camo is the one true way to avoid my smart AI.. they wont see you with active camo unless your like a foot away from him lol.

I dont want super AI, becuase i want it able so people will be able to go by it without being detected. but if you do something wrong like shoot a weapon at it it picks you up and starts tracking you. also does anyone know how to make a alarm that can go with this spotlight?

Well, like this: your trying to infiltrate red base, then you get spotted by the spotlight, then all the sudden you hear the sound\sfx\ambience\a10\klaxon.sound_looping tag

its almost done, I just need to fix one thing.. the light doenst go up/downwards with the turret when it looks up/down O.o

lol, well, aperntly you can confuse this AI quite easly (although they are still supreamly smart).. they will just watch grenades lol, I threw a nade up, all the turrets stared at it, and I walked by.. but the moment it sploded.. they all stared directly at me like they where before.

you can script it in that if it sees someone within a so and so degree, it does something (so in this case, start a sound_loop of a alarm)

sweet, this is awesome, I asked Killer Kiwi to make a script so that if it spots someone it will sound a alarm, also, I need help with a speaker that projects the sound when it is activated, and I also need help with a control box that allows me to activate the alarm manually.

hey rambo made the base siren tags and those have some high quality siren sounds in em for ya and i know how to make it so the light works now
