Yes, I used the search feature. Failed miserably to find anything... I need to learn how to make a bridge. Haha, yes, I know. "What a n00b." I'm just now learning how to use 3DS Max, and it's not that easy (contrary to what people might think, some people require advice and examples in order to learn certain things)... Math, I can do, gaming, I can do, hell, I can do a lot of things... but modeling isn't one of them yet. haha. =] So if anyone can help me, like... make a tutorial on how to make a bridge, and send it to me... or even make the bridge for me (I'll send the .max file if so), and stuff... it'd be greatly appreciated... I can't figure these things out, and I just need a bridge I can make in 3DS max. it can be any kind of bridge so long as it's moderately detailed, not just a flat weird looking bridge..ones with support beams on the side, and the smooth road-type thing, where there's no sudden difference in level like, any angle, unless it's rounded... =] Those are preferred... haha. Thanks!

you really do just got to practice and practice modeling to get good.

you got to put alot of things together yourself and just try things out.

you can make a very very simple bridge with just making a thin box and extruding it. So view any modeling tutorials you can, weapons, vehicles, bipeds, really whatever you can find.

though i agree it would be nice to have a tutorial on using some of the more advanced tools in 3ds max and gmax.

Yea. I know it takes practice, just I've been working on 3DS Max since March almost, and haven't learned hardly anything. Except that Extrude brings stuff up, having two faces in the same place = error, specific IDs are required for texturing things, and missing face = error... I know how to create vertexes and faces and everything, so I can fix all the errors I run across such as open edges, overlapping faces, etcetera, etcetera...but I can't figure out how to make a good bridge that's at least remotely detailed... I'll work on it though. Haha. It's for my map. I need a bridge to get over the water... In the meantime, I'll work on everything else in the map. Secret rooms, material ID's, etc...

I will check out H Guru's base modeling tutorial though, 'cuz his cave tut was pretty helpful. Alas, the map I tried to make it on had so many open edges (I somehow deleted the walls and stuff of the box that I wasn't using, instead of hiding them) that I couldn't repair...so I have to do it all over again. ><;

In a sidenote, his water tutorial was good too...but it hasn't worked for me. I always lack the error he says means that the water is actually going through the map, and my water never shows up. Maybe this time it will. I shall test it later though, after I make the bridge and everything... ><;
