im working on my first map right now. basically its just the neighborhood that i live in. i thought it would be fun to drive a warthog around in it. i live in a place called Lakewood Ranch, and all the houses look the same and are very close together. i still have a little more work to do in 3ds max.

here are pics:

Feedback is much appreciated.

Make the lake more natural in shape
Don't make the map's borders a box
Decrease the size of the UVW box on the ground textures
However it seems like you got the basics down, keep at it.

thanks for the constructive criticism. i wasnt planning on releasing it anyways, im just doing it for myself, and so i can get experience. im still working on it though. when its done i'll post more pics and see what other people think. if they say i should release it i will. although i think it would make a fun race gametype. im gonna work on the side walls a little bit so they look more natural. and when i get better and more experienced, i might make a version2 and release that.

^thanks really. the reason i posted this is i could get some criticism. good or bad. i dont mind it.

but im having some problems exporting it. im using 3ds ma 8, and i used chimp 1.6 to export it. i was using geometric geeks gmax tutorial for reference for what i should type into tool. at the part when im supposed to delete the part in the .jms its not the same and it says theres an error when i export it. i dont know what to use to export it in 3ds max.

thanks.... anyways if i can get this finished and working, i might make a version 2 with lots of different houses and better modeling. i'm hoping to get this finished by saturday, because i leave sunday on a mission trip with my church for a week. if not i'll have a lot of time to work on it when i get back.
