I don't need help making a cave i just want some ideas. See i am going to make a cave, a pretty big one. the entire map will be in the cave and then make the skybox around it.

The cave is going to have jaged walls, celing and pillars on the ground. I am going to design it based on a rifle weapon set.

what are some things you think would be neat and do you have advice for me.

i found some awesome duel smg and a duel smg and plasma rifle tags that i want to put in the map.

Sounds kinda like Waterworks. Just don't make it too big.

I am mostly doing this to see if i can make a good cave, before i actually make a map to be released.

I forgot about soft selection, yes that will help. Moving verticies to model is a pain.

I have never heard of meshsmooth, squeeze or melt when modeling. I wonder if gmax even has those options. Ill look in it.

i do want to put some hills in the cave, decent sized ones like the small one in bloodgulch. I really want to try to make something that duel smg's will be good in. but i doubt i will make anything even close to cool anytime soon. ill try my luck and see if i am willing to stick with it.

Edit: gmax is being retarted as usual.

feel free to pick up the idea and go forward with it on your own. I am 100% sure you could model something better than i can. I am more or less just seeing if i can make something like a cave. If you want to make something like this go do it, i can help with ideas if you want.

problem i keep having is when i make a shape with line and extrude it to make it 3d i am having a hard time closeing in the bottom. too many verticies lol.

I got another method i am going to try later.

but yea hey if you want to make a cave map go for it.

I am trying to do this mainly cause there is not really a map built for rifle and machine gun play. i want there to be one, a map without nades and still have good gameplay. If i can make this happen personally i have no idea.

Edit: having duel SMG's may help ballance it out vs vehicles, i imagine duel SMG's could take out a hog driver with some success.

yes all those can be done, but not by me rofl.

I can't at this point get anything to turn out even slightly like i want it. It's been too long since i tried to map, i sort of got to get more practice and try to remember a bit. I never was that good anyway.

i have to drop this idea personally, so i hope someone may want to make this idea in the future
