What are your guys picks for your Favorite "Classic" Halo Custom Edition Maps? Specifically, those that are similar in style to Halo 1 or 2. What maps have the community created that best captured the feel and style set in place by the early Halo franchise? Some examples; Revelations http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4992 Tlmp Harbinger http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5253 Immolate http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4880 Not looking for fancy tags or elaborate gimmicks. Rather well made, aesthetically appealing levels. List your favorites here and link to them. I'd be really interested to see what the community feels some of the best classic style levels are.

I have way too many to count, mostly because I downloaded every single map that looked interesting regardless of quality. A notable map is CMT's Snow Grove: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=2731 I messed around in that map doing nothing for quite some time. I guess the background Christmas like aesthetic appealed to me. Snowy maps like this were great. Another one would be Precipice: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5708 I personally love maps that take you into mysterious underground forerunner tunnels. I had an entire plan of how I was gonna place marines that traveled this mysterious map but unfortunately it was protected. I loved that there were secret infection forms scattered across the map, it just added to the mystery of halo in general. In terms of single player, one that will forever be one of favorites is the The Flood: Forgotten Exile Demo: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6486 The fact that your are playing as once was an elite is amazing to me. I like the whole anti-hero idea. Maybe I might be biased in this because of the flood but whatever. It still makes me sad that this was cancelled. Flood Developer's campaign was like dream come true. I've always been a fan of the classics:
1. Claustrophobia 2 (energy sword just makes it better, IMO) http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=620
2. Nightcamp CE (Like the original but replaces the pond with a neutral base - super popular before Halomaps came around) http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=350
3. Fissurefall http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=233
4. New Mombasa Classic http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=341
5. Wartorn Cove 3 (I remember this one being the best, but 4 was also good. 1 had a critical design flaw where the first team to the middle could block the teleports) http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=414
6. Cliffhanger http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=209
7. Quagmire http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=267
8. Immure http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1278
Maps like Portent, Church, Precipice etc looked like a lot of fun and were very well made, but I can't really comment on them because I was never able to play a competitive game on them.
Yoyorast 1 and 2 are of course classics, but borderline on the gimmicky side.
I'll always recommend a playthrough of Area 53 and 54 to anyone who hasn't tried it out yet - They are the best of the few multiplayer AI maps tricked out to play like a campaign with co-op capabilities. All things considered, they are impressive for what they are. Area 55 is awful and was never finished, though.
